Christmas Concert What a great night we had for our Christmas Concert last Monday. The weather was perfect the children’s performances were excellent and we all enjoyed another great community event, many thanks to everyone who came along and joined in the festivities with the children. A big thank you to Mr. Downs and Mrs. Howse who co-ordinated the evening and Jenni Brown and Georgie Papenfuss and their team of helpers who ran the sausage sizzle on the evening. We really are so lucky to be part of such a great community at WASPS. Endeavour Award Congratulations to Lauran who was presented with the Ferntree Gully Endeavour Award at the Christmas Concert by Nick Wakeling MP. Lauren is pictured being presented with the Award for her outstanding 7 years at WASPS. School Captains 2017 Traditionally at our Christmas Concert we hear from our current School Captains and then announce our Captains for the following year. Both Hayden and Amy spoke brilliantly about not only their year as School Captain, but what WASPS has meant to them over the last seven years. Hayden and Amy have been outstanding School Captains and fantastic role models for all of us at WASPS this year. Our school is a better place for having Amy and Hayden lead in 2016. It gives me great pleasure to announce that our School Captains for 2017 are Maddie and Cohen. We all congratulate both Maddie and Cohen and look forward to them leading our school in 2017.

This week at The Hive we.........

On Wednesday we jumped outside to soak up some

vitamin D! Taking advantage of the shinning sun we ran

out onto the big kids playground. Taani and Abyssinia

found some flowers and leaves to create nature

necklaces; while Mahlia learnt how to do a handstand!

On Tuesday we made salt dough decorations! We mixed

in all the ingredients together and shaped them into

moulds and waited for them to dry so we could decorate

them. While we were in the crafty mood Mia decided to

make a compass out of pipe cleaners!

On Monday we were so excited for the Christmas Carols

that this afternoon we couldn’t stop talking about it! So to

get our singing voices warmed up we decided to go to

the multipurpose room and play sing star!

On Monday it’s Kids Choice! We’ll be taking a vote on what to do this afternoon. Will we head outside to the

playground? Will we be artistic? Or maybe we will bake up a storm! The choices are in the children’s

hands!

For more information on the Hive OSHC Program please call; text or email us Phone no: 0421 250 881

For the pupil free day we’re going Christmas crazy! We’ll be getting all our last minute

Christmas decorations and cards done as well as any other fun crafts we can think of we may even pop on a movie in the afternoon to relax on the

very last day at the Hive for 2016

This year at the Hive was a busy but exciting one. We said goodbye and good luck to Alisha, who has been a fantastic friend and co-ordinator at the Hive as she continues her journey in early

childcare. However, we are excited to welcome Jess as our new co-ordinator! We’re super excited to see what fun things she has planned for the New Year!

We’ve had lots of fun this year, with water fights in the summer to movies and hot chocolates in the winter. Playing and exploring outside finding out what is around us in nature and our school to getting crafty inside and making anything we could imagine! 2016 has been a wonderful year full of smiling faces and fun stories. We’d also like to congratulate Cohen Bland on becoming school captain for

2017! We wish everyone a Happy Holiday and a safe and wonderful New Year. We’re looking forward to

seeing you either in Vacation care or in the new school year! As we say goodbye to our grade 6’s we wish them luck with their future; we know that whatever you

do, and whatever you choose you’ll be fantastic! Just remember, ‘You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any

direction you choose’ – Dr Seuss
