VENEZUELA Angel Falls is a waterfall in Venezuela. It is the world's highest uninterrupted waterfall. This waterfall is being used to entertain those who likes to hike, base jumping and other activities.

The National Pantheon of Venezuela is a final resting place for national heroes. The Pantheon was created in the 1870s on the site of a ruined church on the northern edge of the old town of Caracas, Venezuela. Also known as the “Temple of Gods”.

BOLIVIA The tamarillo is known in other countries as the tree tomato. The tamarillo is native to the Andes mountain region of Peru, Chile, Ecuador, Colombia and Bolivia. The lighter the color, the sweeter the fruit.

The name Bolivia comes from a Spanish American war hero. Simon Bolivar, becoming official in 1825.

PERU Moray or Muray is a land mark that was used by Inca civilization. How this landmark became about is unknown. With the temp of 27degrees, it’s possible that this large temperature difference was used by the Inca to study the effects of different climatic conditions on crops.

Peru's main exports are copper, gold, zinc, textiles, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, manufactures, machinery, services and fish meal; its major trade partners are the United States, China, Brazil, European Union and Chile.

BRAZIL Soccer is the most popular sport in Brazil with the national team consistently among the best in the world, winning the World Cup a record 5 times.

A brazil nut pod features a thick outer shell as in coconuts, and may weigh up to 2.5 kg in weight. It takes about 14 months for the fruit to mature after pollination. Upon maturity, the pod falls itself from the tree, usually with a thud.

ARGENTINA The Iguazu Falls are so exquisite that they have been used as the backdrop for many films, including Happy Together in 1997, Mr. Magoo in 1997, Miami Vice in 2006 and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull in 2008.

Built in 1822, this statue-rich cemetery features mausoleums of many notables, including Eva Perón.

CHILE Cerro San Cristóbal houses the Parque Metropolitano, Santiago’s largest public park. In the park there is also a botanical garden, zoo and two swimming pools.

A prominent landmark in southern Chile is the Malleco Viaduct, an enormous metallic railroad bridge. It was once considered the highest railroad bridge in the world.

ECUADOR Arroz con Pollo (rice with chicken) and Arroz con Camarones (rice with shrimp) are both traditional dishes found throughout Latin America.

The Ecuadorian woman's dress is the closest to the Incan costumes worn in the Andes. Jewelry is very important, layers of necklaces of predominantly gold beads and red coral bracelets are the most common.

COLUMBIA On May 12, 1792, Gray returned south and crossed the Columbia Bar, becoming the first explorer to enter the river. He had a ship named Columbia Rediviva; he named the river after the ship on May 18.

The Gold Museum is a museum located in Bogotá, Colombia. The biggest collection in the world — in it’s exhibition rooms on the second and third floors.

GUYANA Guyana has been its earliest colonial history, which happens to be Dutch. It was constructed after the Dutch had sailed to Guyana in 1598, and in 1613 had decided to build a permanent and secure home here.

Guyana National Museum was established on 13 February 1868. The idea of starting a museum was conceived by members of the Royal Agricultural and Commercial Society of British Guiana.

PARAGUAY The Paraguayan music is very special, although being the only South American country where the majority of its inhabitants speak the language of indigenous origins; its music is totally of European origin.

Paraguay is currently the world’s largest exporter of hydroelectric power. It shares Itaipu Dam with Brazil, which is the world’s largest hydroelectric power plant.

SURINAME The Jules Wijdenbosch Bridge, also called Suriname bridge and known locally as Bosje Brug.

Fort Zeelandia is a fortress in Paramaribo, Suriname, that was built in 1640 French as a wooden structure The British took the fort and called it Fort Willoughby. In 1651 a small trading post was created by the Dutch.

URUGUAY The Plaza de Toros closed only two years after its inauguration as bullfighting was declared illegal by the government.

The lighthouse is unique in being at the only location that can be seen both on the northern and southern sides of the Atlantic, making it an important navigational spot.

The northwest corner of French Guiana, Plage les Hattes at Awala-Yalimapo is the most important single nesting site in the world for giant leatherback turtles.
