Children’s liturgy needs your help!
Did you ever wonder where all the children go
during the UCC’s morning Mass? Here’s your
chance to find out! Volunteers are needed to
help lead Children’s Liturgy sessions at the 9:00
am Mass (10:30 am in the summer). If you
enjoy working with children, this is a great
opportunity to help bring the Sunday liturgy to them at a level they
can understand. For more information, email [email protected].
Besides Mass, do you participate in communal prayer? Today’s
Gospel tells us that whenever two or more are gathered in prayer,
God is there. As an easy way to start, try making communal prayer
a habit before and after meals.
Interested in becoming catholic?
RCIA (The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) is the formation
process for those interested in becoming
Catholic or returning to the Church. For more
information on our RCIA program, contact our
Campus Minister, Dorothy Harper, at
[email protected]. First session for the year
begins NEXT Sunday, September 14th at 12:30 pm. Please join us!
BLACK BAG COLLECTION TODAY • Sunday, Sept. 7
Our Black Bag Collection today will
benefit Casa Marianella, an emergency
shelter serving immigrants and refugees
originally started by the Diocese of Austin.
Casa Marianella sleeps twenty-one men
and seven women with children each night. Under regular
circumstances, a resident is given one month to stay at the house
during which time they become self-sufficient and find
employment. Residents primarily come from Latin America. For
more information, visit casamarianella.org.

these ministries, please plan to attend one of

BE SOMEONE’s Friend
Come join a group of volunteers who make people
happy! On Sunday mornings we carpool to our
sister community at the Austin State Supported
Living Center (a residential facility for people who
are mentally handicapped). We accompany
residents to a Catholic prayer service we hold in the Chapel. Many
of these folks are in wheelchairs and could not come to church
without us. For more information, please sign up at the UCC Front
Desk, email [email protected], or call Kathy
Hackett at 512-928-1776.
