Travelling to Canada
When you enter Canada, a Canada Border Services Agency officer may ask to see your passport and a valid visa, if one is necessary. For information about documentation required and border procedures please visit the WPC travel advice page or visit the Canada Border Services Agency website.
As part of your registration you have been provided with a Business Travel Support Letter which is needed to enter Canada, you can download this by logging into your account. Please ensure this is printed off and you carry this with your other travel documents as you may be asked for it by boarder control.
You may be asked for proof that you are attending a meeting or convention and it may be useful to have a copy of the meeting agenda and/or registration on hand.

Toronto, Canada is in the Eastern Standard Time Zone (BST - 5 hours).
Show Your Badge and Save
As a WPC attendee, you can show your convention badge to participating restaurants during the dates of your event to take advantage of a great dining offer. Find out more about the different attractions in Toronto.
Safety and Security
With any international travel there are risks, but many steps have been taken to mitigate them. The Microsoft Global Security team has been involved at every stage of our planning process to focus on participant safety. Our programme plan has been carefully designed to reduce participant risk exposure. The safety and security of our attendees is Microsoft’s first priority.
Please remember these common sense security guidelines when using the conference centre:
• Do not use recording devices, cameras or laser pointers in conference sessions.
• All personal items at the convention centre are at the owners risk, please be sensible with your valuables.
• Immediately report suspicious behaviour and if you need to contact the Emergency Services, call 911.

AirportsToronto is served by two major airports:
Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) Roughly 17 miles (27km) from the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, the Toronto Pearson International Airport is Canada’s largest airport and will be the primary hub for flights travelling in and out of Toronto for WPC 2016.
Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (YTZ) At just under 2 miles (3km) to the convention centre, you can walk from the airport straight to WPC 2016. Billy Bishop Toronto Airport services primarily air travel from the U.S and Canada, but also hosts flights from 80 international locations including several UK cities.
ShuttlesTake the UP Express (Union-Pearson Express), a dedicated express rail service connecting Union Station to Toronto Pearson airport, departing every 15 minutes. The fare is up to $12 depending on destination and type of pass.
TaxisToronto has numerous cab companies, all charge the same base rate of $3.25 plus $1.09 per mile OR $0.52 a minute. The easiest cab number to remember is 416-TAXICAB from local phones or +1416-TAXICAB from a UK phone to connect to all taxi and airport limo companies.
Car hireAvis, Budget, Dollar/Thrifty, Enterprise, Hertz and National/Alamo are all on site at Toronto Pearson International Airport for quick, efficient car rentals.
