Things to do One of the most interesting sights of Jabłonna is the palace. It houses the Conference Centre of the Polish Academy of Sciences. The palace plays an important role in local commu-

nity life. It offers a wide variety of leisure time activities. Art lovers should visit its gallery , where they may admire the exhibitions of world famous and local artists. Once a month, usually

on Sundays, the residents of our village are invited to concerts of classical music (free of charge). The dance hall echoes then with Vivaldi and Bach concertos. However, the event that at-

tracts hundreds of visitors is the annual Festival of Science. It is held in September. It is a family event. Both parents and children are invited to see many interesting presentations. While

visiting the festival one can take the opportunity to touch the bones of prehistoric animals found by the Polish scientists researching the Spitsbergen. You also have a chance to get familiar

with the latest achievements of science, such as precision engineering. During the last festival children enjoyed giving orders to robots designed for the police forces. Ladies could learn how

to make fine jewelry and admired the rare types of roses - Jabłonna has always been famous for growing the most beautiful flowers in Poland. This is a spectacular event and has been a

huge success for many years!

Places to see. Starting with one of the most interesting sights, the Palace and its estate, discover the beauty and history of Jabłonna. The Palace was built by the Bishop of Plock, Michal

Poniatowski The Palace includes annexes, pavilions, and an Orangery. In the gardens, you will find the Triumphal Arch, the Chinese Arbor, historical caves, an astonishing gateway

entrance, and of course a Gateman's house all of which overlook the spectacular view of the Vistula River. The peace and quiet of the place offers tired visitors a refreshing break from

their busy lives.

Another interesting site in Jabłonna is the Old Inn. Built before 1834, it was originally an inn with a forge. Today, it is the place where the local government, the cooperative

bank, and the community social welfare center are located.

In 1834 the Potoccy family rented part of the ground so it could be used as a horse-post. Soon after, a post office was built and believe it or not, it still serves the residents

today. One of the most treasured sites of the area is the church commemorating the Assumption Day in Chotomów, erected before 1387. A beautiful gate – belfry, as old as the church,

leads up to the church yard. In front of the gate visitors may admire the 19th century figure of Virgin Mary holding Jesus.

Jabłonna has a rich history , hence, there are numerous national memorials. The Casualty Monument is located near the post office in Jabłonna in “Alfa and Skiba Square”.

It commemorates the soldiers who were killed 17.06.1943 during the transport of weapons. The AK Soldiers Monument , located in front of the commune office, honors The Polish

Home Army (Armia Krajowa) soldiers who fought and died in the area The nameless monument in the Chotomów forest, honors an AK soldier . The monument stands in the place

where an AK soldier, Stefan Krasiński was killed while waging an attack on German troops.
