UMT BUDDIES CLUB@ BUDDIES JAMBOREE 2018

5 students from UMT Buddies Club, in collaboration with International Mobility & Collaboration Centre, joined a Buddies Jamboree 2018 organized by USM Student Buddies. The aim of this programme was to impart strategies on managing international students from partner universities, to gain confidence, and to develop skills in interacting with other people. These 5 students also won the first runner-up prize for Best Panji Category in the Genesis Program: Buddies Jamboree @USM. This programme is a good platform for the Buddies to gain exposure and share experience in bridging the gap between the local and international students.

The UMT Buddies Club under the International Centre was established in 2015 with twelve students who were from School of Ocean Engineering (PPKK) and School of Maritime Business & Management (PPPPM). UMT’s International Centre took the initiative to initiate the UMT Buddies Club in order to provide some services and also to take good care of international student’s welfare. Now, UMT Buddies Club has 30 students that are currently active in providing help that will strengthen the relationship between the locals and the international community. The UMT Buddies Club also provides exposure to UMT students on cultural diversity with the hope that it can make UMT as a global university.
