Noodle Box was created in 1996 by two adventurous young Aussies who travelled to Southeast Asia and were inspired by the fiery theatre and flavours of hawker food.

They returned to Australia armed with a wok in hand and worked with the best wok chefs in the industry, bringing new life to traditional recipes to satisfy Aussie tastebuds.

OPERATIONSWe will assign you your own Business Development Manager (BDM) who will work with you regularly in a business-building capacity to realise and action opportunities for sales growth, review performance and monitor operational standards.

MARKETINGGreat brands are strengthened by great marketing. To help attract and retain as many hungry customers as possible, we will promote your store through rigorous local area marketing initiatives, loyalty programs, extensive national campaigns and an active social media presence.

TRAININGYou will be taught everything you need to know about our products, systems and procedures through our comprehensive training program. We also have ongoing training available via our innovative online platform.

PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT & INNOVATIONThe product team oversee menu innovation, sourcing and supply of products and use national buying power when negotiating prices from our suppliers.

YOUR SUPPORT, SYSTEMS + SERVICESPROJECT MANAGEMENTThe project team co-ordinates and assists with new store design, refurbishing existing stores, liaising franchisees and architects to achieve final approved designers, tendering of projects and determining costs. They will also source and appoint suppliers and local contractors to carry out works and project manage all new store constructions, fits outs and equipment procurement.

SITE SELECTION & LEASINGAt Noodle Box we have strict criteria for the placement of a new restaurant and use demographic data to identify the ideal location. We focus on only selecting high profile, busy retail strip locations, and each site requires food provisions such as air conditioning, 3 phase power supply, a grease trap, exhaust extraction, and gas and water connection. If the location is right, we will then assist in negotiating the commercial terms with the landlord or developer on your behalf.

LEGAL & FINANCENoodle Box will provide you with all the financial and legal support you need to put you at ease as you enter into a new franchise business. You will receive regular advice on the financial performance of the business, including P&L analysis and payroll management. Our legal team will prepare and provide you with our Franchise Kit which includes your Franchise Agreement, Disclosure Documents and the Franchising Code of Conduct.

You are required to seek independent financial and legal advice before entering a franchise agreement.

FRANCHISE FEEIn addition to the set-up cost, a once off franchise fee is payable of $40,000 + GST.

ONGOING COSTS

Royalty fee - 7% of weekly gross sales

Marketing contribution - 3% of weekly gross sales

$265 + GST per month software licensing fee

Working capital $5,000 - $10,000

Set up costs to open a Noodle Box franchise will require an initial investment of approximately $200,000 to $250,000 + GST.

This cost will vary depending on location, store size, existing infrastructure, fit out requirements and landlord contributions.

FRANCHISE AGREEMENTThe Noodle Box Franchise Agreement is granted for a term of (7) years, with additional options available. You can of course sell your Noodle Box franchise at any time to an approved purchaser.

LEASINGThe location of your Noodle Box store is crucial to its success. Our development team identifies, assesses and selects only the highest profile locations.

When entering into your lease, you may be required to supply a personal or bank guarantee up to a value of 3 months rent.

FINANCING Many banks and financial institutions will consider an application for finance to purchase a Noodle Box.

Noodle Box also has an accreditation with equipment finance providers, which is available to all franchise partners that qualify.

TRADING HOURS Typically seven days a week

11.00am - 9.00pm (Sun-Thu)

11.00am - 10.00pm (Fri-Sat)

Is investing in a franchise risk-free? The risk involved in participating in any reputable franchise system should be significantly less than the risk of proceeding with a similar business on your own. Any retail business involves risk and Noodle Box cannot guarantee the sales of a particular store or its profitability.

Should I seek independent advice before entering the Noodle Box franchise system? Noodle Box requires that all franchise partners obtain competent legal, business and accounting advise before entering into the franchise documentation to ensure that franchise partners fully understand their obligations.

Do I need prior business or food industry experience? No. Previous experience as a chef or managing a retail business is a great advantage and the preferred way to becoming a franchise partner, however our extensive training program and years of experience will help you operate your own store.

What are the typical/required hours of operation? The typical hours are 10.00am-9.30pm, 7 days, although in situations where there are good business reasons for alteration (store specific) these hours may vary.

Am I required to work in the business? That would usually be the case, however if there is a robust plan to operate the store under suitably talented leadership, Noodle Box may consider candidates that wish to invest and employ a management team.

Can I try before I buy? Visits to Noodle Box stores, including the chance to act as part of the store’s team are arranged during your selection process, we call this ‘Discovery Day’.

What is the ongoing franchise fee and what does it cover? The franchise fee is 7% of your gross weekly sales. The payments are used to maintain and improve our systems, ensuring that all avenues flow smoothly between the franchisor and franchisee.

What is the marketing fee? The purpose of the marketing fee is to pool the marketing contributions in a fund for all franchise partners to maximize any possible benefits. This fee is set at 3% of your gross weekly sales. The marketing fee can only be used to benefit franchise partners and can be audited on request.

What restrictions do I have when marketing and promoting my store? All marketing and promotions, both in-store and online, must comply with the brand guidelines.

Where do I purchase supplies? As part of your manual, you will be provided with a list of approved suppliers. These suppliers are hand-picked and you benefit from our bulk buying power. You may also source certain products locally providing they meet quality standards.

What is the investment required to open a franchise with Noodle Box? The estimated investment costs for a Noodle Box stores ranges from $200,000 - $250,000 + GST.

Will I be able to sell my franchise in the future? Yes. The franchise is yours to sell under certain guidelines and conditions. Noodle Box will need to provide approval on the selection of a new franchise partner in the same way that you have been approved.

What is a landlord contribution and who receives it? Landlords sometimes offer a financial contribution towards the fit-out costs during lease negotiations. Any contribution amount that is secured will be fully passed on and will reduce the investment required.

What kind of returns can I expect from running a Noodle Box franchise? This relies on the growth and profitability of the business under your ownership, therefore we cannot predict or guarantee what your returns may be. We will provide you with a financial planning guide to assist with you preparation of a business plan and budget forecast.
