The profession of health and wellness coaching has emerged to address an urgent and widespread need to help people increase the quality and years of healthy life. This three-day Health Coach Certificate training course provides a powerful and practical framework that professionals can use with clients to support meaningful and sustainable changes for improved health and well-being. Participants will be introduced to a variety of techniques that help clients build self-confidence and motivation while addressing the barriers to identifying their own solutions and achieving their goals.

Health Coaching is an effective way to help people improve their quality of life through the proven behavior-change techniques to elicit motivation an engage in more preventative health behaviors. This training uses a person-centered approach that helps clients with developing self-management skills that improve self-awareness, readiness for change and goal-attainment. Health Coaching requires a mindset shift from a perspective-directive approach to an engaging whole person perspective, linking the client’s values to their goals and overall well-being. The training emphasizes an evidence-based framework to guide the coaching

relationship using communication approaches such as motivational interviewing and the teach-back method to support shared decision-making. In addition, cognitive behavioral strategies are used, including self-regulation, goal setting, realistic expectations, and exploring barriers and support.

This training is interactive with frequent hands-on practical experiences, collaborative activities and feedback specifically designed to prepare you to meet the national standards of competence in health and wellness coaching.

This training is open to all Health Educators, Health Coaches, Physicians, Physician Assistants, Nurses, Nurse Navigators, Case Managers, Medical Office Managers, Certified Nursing Assistants, Certified Medical Assistants, Registered Dietitians,

Diabetes Educators, Counselors, Social Workers, Certified Personal Trainers, Audiologists, Clergy, Fitness Instructors and other interested healthcare professionals working with clients/patients for health and wellness improvement.
