This is the sixteenth annual compilation of programs submit-

ted by members of the International Trumpet Guild. From 1976

through 1989, programs were listed within the  Journal itself.

Because of the ever-increasing response, an annual volume was

created in 1990. This current publication covers the 2004 – 2005

academic year. It represents approximately 200 separate pro-

grams received from 3 countries, and 30 states and the District

of Columbia within the USA. A Review of the Year’s Programson page 18 lists the most frequently performed selections.

ITG members are invited to send programs for next year’s

recent programs book. Programs submitted should adhere to

    the following guidelines:

    1. All programs or listings must include:

    a. Name of the player or ensemble

    b. Location of the performance (concert site, city and

state, and country if outside the U.S.)

    c. Date of the performance

    d. Type of program:

    1) Guest appearance/performance (with an ensemble)

    2) Faculty/professional recital

    3) Graduate student recital (include level: master’s or doctoral)

    4) Student or other recital

    5) Brass quintet program

    6) Brass ensemble or trumpet ensemble program

    2. Cross off those items on the program that do not involve

trumpet (i.e., organ solos, etc.). Be as specific as possible with

titles of pieces (e.g., Telemann Concerto in D with Two Oboes

and Strings rather than Telemann Concerto in D ).

    3. If teachers submit programs of students, the students must be

members of ITG. Programs cannot be returned. The editor

reserves the right to include only recent programs, and to print

only representative programs if a large number of similar pro-

grams are sent. Failure to include any of the information list-

ed above may prevent the listing of a program. Do not includeperformances of works within a larger, non-musical event

(e.g., a wedding or church service) or large ensemble partici-

pation, regardless of the level of involvement by the trumpet

(e.g., off-stage solo in Pines of Rome).

    4. Please continue to send programs as soon as possible. The

deadline for next year’s booklet is June 20, 2006. Programsreceived after this date will be included in the succeeding vol-

    ume.

    5. Send programs to:

A REVIEW OF THE YEAR’S PROGRAMS

The following is a list of those works performed most oftenby members of the International Trumpet Guild during 2004 –

2005 as determined by the programs submitted. Each piece list-

ed was performed two or more times, as indicated, by different

performers. Multiple performances of a given work by the same

    player(s) were omitted.

Included without indication are fractional performances of

larger works (e.g., Selections from “West Side Story Suite” list-

ed within West Side Story Suite ). Different arrangements of the

same composition are given individual consideration (the Gale

arrangement of Lew Pollack’s That’s a Plenty vs. the Cooper

arrangement) when that information has been supplied.
