4T Comments• Connect – to your life and the world around you

• Visualize – see the image the author is creating for you. What does it remind you of? Use simile and metaphor to explain or expand upon the image.

• Predict – what will happen in the story, or what information is to come. Predict how this might affect your life.

• Question – write down the questions that pop into your head as you read.

• Clarify – as you read, make note of when things suddenly make sense or when a confusing point in the beginning of the piece becomes more clear later on.

• Evaluate – give your opinion. We all know you have one!!
