These rules are specific to the Rayat-Bahra Group and must be adhered to in spirit by all students. Objective of these rules is to create academic ambience conducive to learning and holistic growth &development of students.
I. Class Room Etiquette
Punctuality is a hall mark of good character and universally appreciated trait. Late coming to class is not permitted. Entering the classroom after the faculty has taken his position to teach is not allowed. Students expected to be seated in their chairs before the entry of the lecturer.
Use of mobile phone in the class is strictly forbidden. Students possessing mobile phone should switch them off before entering class.
Decorum of the class will be maintained at all times.
Students are expected to possess textbooks but need to bring to class on direction of faculty.
Cheating, in any form, is a serious offense for future business leaders. Proxy for a friend for attendance or copying of work of co-student toward completion of assignment, use of unfair means in examination internal or external will invite severe penalty.
II. Attendance
To be eligible for taking final university examination, attendance of 75% in all subjects including practical classes is compulsory. No laxity in this rule is permissible. In view of the foregoing, you are advised to take attendance seriously.
Absence from class without permission in advance, except under emergency or sickness (with documentary evidence), is treated as serious lapse and invite penalty of Rs.100/- per lecture.
It will be the sole responsibility of the student to maintain minimum attendance criteria. However, the Dean office will also monitor attendance of students on regular basis. Defaulters' name will be displayed on notice board before commencement of mid semester examination. Please be advised that the Institute has little leeway in mitigating attendance shortage.

III. Library Rules
Use of library can only be made after issuance of reader's ticket.
Only 02 books can be issued against a ticket for a maximum of 14 days
at a time. Renewal for a period of 7 days is allowed only if there is no
demand of the book from other students.
Magazines, journals, reference books are not issued, they must only be
referred in the library.
Use of mobile phone in the library is not permitted.
Late return of book will invite a fine of Rs. 5/- for every extra day.
Loss of book or damage to it, which includes defacement in any form
(highlighting, underlining, making notes, tearing-off pages etc.) will
invite heavy monetary fine.

Extra Curricular Activities
For holistic development, it is imperative that students actively
participate in extracurricular activities. The Institute is small in terms of
students' strength but very big in terms of its intellectual assets.
Intellectual assets combined with sporting physical activities in an
innovative manner can give rise to events that can be highly invigorating
for development of desirable character traits.
The Institute runs the following technical and sports clubs:
FightEng Fear Club: The aim of this club is to inculcate among students
fondness for language and enhance their literary skills. It works
towards producing Institute magazine and to develop the taste of
literature and grooming the talent of students in various interpersonal
activities. It will provide a platform to encourage the students to
become orators to display their intellectual and independent thinking
skills and imbibe a sense of confidence. It is headed by Ms. Poonam
Bhatia, Faculty Applied Sciences (9463595940).
The Director can be contacted at any time in his office or on mobile by any student. The faculty members are also available to the students for consultation during all working days in the College.

Contact in Emergency
Sports Club: The club is responsible for organizing sports
competitions in the Institute. Students with potential to excel in
specific event are helped and promoted by providing special facilities.
It is headed by Mr. Mahesh Jetly, Sports Officer (9417277127).
NSS and NCC: Students are encouraged to participate in social
activities through NSS and indulge in national services through NCC.
It is also headed by Mr. Mahesh Jetly, Sports Officer.
Music, Dramatics & Arts Club: It helps to develop talent of students in
the field of music, drama. The club works for multi-dimensional
growth of personality of students by encouraging them to participate
at inter-state/national level competitions and Techfests. Ms. Rekha
Sharma, Faculty Applied Sciences (9417584492) is the Coordinator for
the same.
SAE Club: It guides students to exercise their technical skills and
knowledge for making real-life projects to compete at National and
International level. Students fabricated All-Terrain Vehicle and
GoKart vehicles and have won national awards under this club.

Coordinator and Er. Vipin Khurana (9888497142) and Mr. Amrit
Sherpal Singh (9872720052) are Co-coordinators.
Student Care and Counseling Centre & Student Welfare: A fully
functional Students' Welfare department is established at R.I.E.I.T
which functions for overall benefit and welfare of the students and
works in association with the students and faculty to ensure various
welfare aspects of the students. It is also headed by Er. Anudeep
Goraya, DSW & Faculty ECE (8427105025).
Activities List
Academic Calendar (2017-2018)
One of the objectives of the course/program is to ensure placement for all
students. Towards this end the Trust has taken a highly commendable
initiative of creating an independent department of placement and
training headed by a director and supported by experienced and highly
qualified trainers and language experts. All the students taking
admission in any of the Institute/College of the group, will be required to
attend the following classes throughout his stay:
Communication skills
Personality development and soft skills
Vocational subjects other than covered in the curriculum.
Attendance in lectures / seminars for the referred subjects is compulsory
for all.
Placement Cell
All students will be guided by the code of conduct as defined by the authorities time to time. Failure to comply with these rules will amount to misconduct and invite penalty depending on gravity of offence.
All Students are expected to follow the following rules:
1. Any student will not indulge into ragging of any kind. It is a cognizable offense and invites penal action from the Institute as well as government authorities.
2. No student will indulge into misbehavior of any kind with his/her fellow students, faculty or any other staff member.
3. No student will indulge into smoking, consumption of alcohol or drugs. Possession and consumption of such intoxicants shall be taken very seriously. Besides disciplinary action by the trust, students violating this rule may also invite prosecution by civil authorities.
4. All students should wear formal dress, wearing of casual and shabby dress is not allowed.
5. All students are required to attend classes regularly and be present during any other activity organized by the Institute/Group.
6. Playing of games in the classroom and crackers is strictly prohibited in Institute premises.
7. Roaming around and making noise in the corridor is strictly prohibited.
8. Utmost silence is required to be maintained in the library. Eatables, personal property, bags etc. are not allowed to be taken in the library.
9. All students are expected to use property of the Institute very carefully and economically. Any breakage or damage of furniture, fittings, equipment, library books or any other property of the Institute shall be taken seriously and punitive action shall be taken against the offenders.
Besides these general rules, the Institute has its own set of codes for its students.
Code of Conduct for Students
1. Students admitted to hostel will also be member of student mess and dine in students mess.
2. Students should not occupy their allotted room without written permission from the hostel warden.
3. Hostel residents are expected to display acceptable form of behavior.
Hostel Rules
Program assessment is based on external and internal assessment
system. External examination is conducted by the Punjab Technical
University in every semester. Generally external examinations carry 60
marks per subject and 40 marks as internal assessment (awarded by the
Institute). Viva voce for each semester is conducted by internal and
external examiner, appointed by the university. Rules connected internal
examinations are as:
Appearing in internal examination is compulsory. There will be two
mandatory mid semester tests (MSTs), average of which will be
counted toward overall internal assessment.
Internal examinations will be conducted over two to three days with
two papers per day. Syllabus to be covered for the examination will be
displayed by the faculty on notice board minimum three days before
the commencement of the examination.
Use of unfair means will lead to cancellation of the paper and zero
award.
Internal Examination and Assessment
Do not let yourself subjected to ragging under any circumstances.
Some guidelines that can be help to avoid ragging:
Never be alone, always be with one of your friends.
Do not leave hostel under any circumstances after last light.
Keep record of all helpline numbers.
Be polite and courteous to your seniors but not subservient.
Approach your warden and security personnel for immediate help.
Do not meet any of the uncalled upon request or order of your senior
students.
Please do not hesitate to reveal any facts regarding ragging to the
Anti-Ragging Committee. Your complaints shall be dealt with strict
confidentiality and immediate action shall follow.
Institute takes a serious view of non-compliance of these codes. Any such action by students may invite penalties like:
1. Detention from appearing in the semester examination or deduction from internal assessment.
2. Suspension of all or any of student facilities, rights and privileges and exclusion from classes, exams or other form of assessment, from use of facilities and prohibition or re-enrolment.
3. Fine up to Rs. 2000/- plus cost of damages, where applicable.
4. Suspension of the student enrolment for one or two semesters.
5. Expulsion from the institution.
6. Where a student is found guilty of misconduct, one or more of the above penalties may be imposed.
Ragging, in any form is strictly forbidden, and punishable both by the Institute and civil authorities. An Anti-Ragging Committee has been formed in the College to ensure a totally ragging-free College environment. The committee is the part of student welfare.

Anti- Ragging Committee
Non-Compliance of Rules 4. Non-resident visitors are not permitted in the hostel without explicit
permission of Director/Principal and Director Administration.
5. The refundable deposits are to be obtained back only at the end of
academic program undertaken. In case a student is voluntarily vacating
the hostel, after obtaining requisite permission from the authorities or is
ordered to vacate under trust/hostel rules, the refundable security will
only be paid back/adjustable at the end of academic year.
6. Entry and exit from hostel will be through main gate of the hostel.
Students are required to make entry in the outgoing register maintained
in the hostel and the main gate.
7. No hostel resident is allowed to stay out without proper permission of the
warden.
8. Residents at all times are expected to conduct themselves with regard to
the comfort and convenience of other residents. No resident is allowed to
indulge in any activity in his/her room, which may cause disturbance to
others. Playing of games and other rowdy and noisy activities in the
corridors, hostel lawns or verandahs is strictly prohibited.
9. Boarders should not keep valuable or large sum of money in their rooms.
Hostel authorities in no way will be responsible for any loss or theft.
10. Inmates should not conduct group meetings, circulate books, pamphlets
and conduct parties or get together inside the hostel premises.
11. No student is allowed to remain in his/her room in the hostel during
College timings, expect under circumstances of ill health and with proper
authorization of the hostel authorities.
12. Possession, carrying and storage of firearms, swords, knives or any other
form of weapon, which can cause serious injury to others, is forbidden in
the hostel as well as in the campus.
13. No student shall be allowed to take meals to their rooms or outside the
dining hall.
14. Ragging of first year student is forbidden and punishable by fining,
rustication or expulsion.
15. No student shall be allowed entry to the hostel after 6:30pm in the
evening.
