What Cause the Civil War.

Uncle Tom’s Cabin

• This women named Harriet Beechers Stowe wrote a book about a slave that she hasn’t even seen one up close, the slave had a great owner then when the owner died he got a new owner the owner was really horrible to him.

States Rights

• The South thought that it could leave the country after the election of 1860 but the North didn’t think that the South had the right to do that so they fought the South and this was a big cause of the Civil War.

Election of 1860

• Everyone in the South voted for the same person and the North's votes were split and the guy the South voted for still lost to Abraham Lincoln.

• Immediately after the results of the election came out the South started to secede.

John Brown

• He was from the North, He went to a town and his sons and Him went and killed about 5 people. After he was caught he was sentenced and hung. People from the north called him a hero and a martyr and the south called him a terrorist.

Missouri Compromise

• When California wanted to become a state the Missouri compromise line split it in half so that a new line had to be made. When the new law came into play Kansas and Nebraska were able to chose if the wanted slavery or not.

Bleeding Kansas

• When Kansas and Nebraska were able to vote if they wanted slavery or not all the major people for slavery and against slavery moved out to Kansas. Eventually they started to argue and then started to fight and they started to kill one another. This is how Kansas got the name Bleeding Kansas.
