UNIT 4--> THE PLANT KINGDOM CLASSIFFICATION OF PLANTSIn plant kingdom can be clasiffied into 2 groups.FLOWERING PLANTS and NON-FLOWERING PLANTS.

FLOWERING PLANTSUse sexsual reproduction. The flowers grow which reproductive organs. The plants reproduce which seeds. Two different way: ANGIOSPERMSFlowers produce fruit which seeds inside. When someone gets the seed from the fruit, can plant other tree.

GYMOSPERMSDon't produce fruit and their seed develop in cones.

NON-FLOWERING PLANTSNon-flowering plants not produce seeds.Theyreproduce asexualy using spores. Two diferent way:

FERMS*They have roots and strong stems under the ground.*They have large leaves called fronds.*They produce spores inside the leaves.

MOSSES*They have very simple stems and leaves.*Their roots are called rhizoids.*They produce spores inside capsules.

SEXUALSexual are plants which flowers.Reproduce by flower.

ASEXUALAsexual are plants that haven't got flowersNO FLOWERS

PARTS OF PLANTSThe plants have 3 parts: roots, stem and leaves. ROOTS:they hold the plant to de ground. They absorb water and minerals from the ground to the roots hair.

STEM:it holds up other parts of the plants. It also tranport water and minerals to the leaves for photosynthesis. The stem of the tree are trunk

LEAVES:contain chlorophyll.Mosts leaves contain two parts:the petiole and the blade.Veins in the blade support the leave and carried water and minerals.Inside of the blade there are tiny holes called stoma where the gas exchage takes place.

The stoma it like this

PLANT NUTRITIONPlants make their own foot through a process called photosynthesis.1*The roots absorb water and minerals from the soil.2*The cells plants transport this mixtures of water and minerals called raw sap.4*Leaves absorb carbon dioxide through stomata. In ther chloroplasts, chlorophyll collects solar energy to transform water, minerals and carbon dioxide into glucose and oxygen. PHOTOSYNTHESIS is important to:*Gives up oxygen*It consumes carbon dioxide*It transform water and minerals into food.Animals can feed on plants to get energy to live.

THE RESPIRATION OF THE PLANT*Leaves contain stomata, absorb carbon dioxide and relase oxygen.*Plants produce oxygen through the photosynthesis.*At night when photosynthesis stops plants relase carbon dioxide. THE RESPIRATION OF THE PLANT
