Unit of Inquiry How we express ourselves

Central idea - Imagination is a powerful tool for extending our ability to think, create and express ourselves.

Lines of inquiry- • How we demonstrate, enjoy and express our

imagination • How our imagination helps us to consider other

perspective • How imagination helps us to solve problems. Key concepts- • Form • Perspective

The students: • used Tangrams and created imaginary figures followed by

presentation of their work. This activity was done to tune in the central idea

• created a KWL chart for the unit – how we express ourselves keeping in mind the central idea

• discussed and created a mind map on - ‘What is imagination?’

• brainstormed on “why do they need to imagine?” • were introduced to naming words through a game name,

place ,animal& thing’ • inquired into types of nouns-common noun and proper

noun through a T-chart activity where they listed the same

Inquiry in Hindi : Standard :

• Recapitulation of two, three and four letters words through sentences

Abnitio:

• Introduction of sanyukt akshars xa ~ & through audio visuals

• Oral comprehension of poem and stories related to Diwali through audio visuals followed by craft making activity

Inquiry in Numeracy: Students reviewed and rehearsed number names in tens such

as twenty, thirty, forty Were introduced to the 2D shapes of square, rectangle,

circle, oval, pentagon, hexagon and octagon where they identified the sides in each of these shapes
