The AFRE was celebrated with the pomp and revelry that it has become synonymous

with. 34000 players danced to the melodies of Rutumbhara Group and our beloved

singer Shri Atul Purohit. With live coverage reaching 45 countries and live webcasts on

social media, it had literally taken the real as well as virtual world by storm. AFRE 2019

pulled in crowds to the tune of thousands along with donations players and various

sponsors. The special guests who marked their presence included known names from

the Indian Cricket Team, Government and Municipal and entertainment circuits.

Another highlight of this year was the world record set pledging for swachhta.

A Creative Selfie Booth was also designed which highlighted our Projects. Customized

Props and Flexes were designed on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. We thank all the

Participants and donors for bestowing us with immense support. Your generous donation

will help us in making a positive difference in the lives of around 1,00,000 less privileged.

60 Deaf and Mute students were sponsored for 1 year English and Computer Skill Course in Smart Sign Language. English and Computer training will also be imparted to at Mook Badhir Mandal. Oxford Dictionary were also provided to all the sponsored students for better understanding of words. National anthem in sign language was also performed with the students.

50 Anganwadi Workers and Helpers and implementing partner NGO were trained by United Way of Baroda team on Early Childhood Care & Education under the Anganwadi Adoption Program with Born Learning Inputs in 25 Anganwadi Centres of the city. The training will facilitate better learnings amongst the preschool children.

Deaf and Mute Students Sponsored Machine Donated to Government Hospital

A fully Auto Biochemistry Analyser machine was donated to Sir Sayajirao General Hospital costing INR 25,00,000. This machine will be used for testing a number of biochemical parameters in patients' blood samples and other fluids. In this equipment, 50 different samples can be tested simultaneously and 15-20 different types of tests can be done on each sample as per requirement. It has advanced facilities like clot detection, sample level testing, gives warning for insufficient reagents or sample.

Under Pro ject Sanka lpana to promote better understanding of Mathematics, a customized online software has been installed in 5 NPSS schools. Grade wise workbook were distributed by UWB. The mathematical tools are also used to make understand math in playful manner to government students from grade 3rd to 5th every week align with NCERT Syllabus pilot study had every positive results. Overall impact in result will be seen in end line assessment.

Flood Relief Distribution

United Way of Baroda has always supported relief work to combat natural calamities, disasters across India. During Vadodara floods UWB stood strong by our city people supported them with every possible way by distributing clothes, food packets, water and ration kits (15 kg each) which consisted of oil, rice, flour, tea, chilli powder, salt, turmeric etc. were distributed in 15 flood affected areas of Vadodara city for 7 days. 100 schools bags were provided to 100 underprivileged students of flood affected area.

th An event was organised on 9 July 2019 to throw the

20,000 seed balls made by volunteers at Sindhrot check

dam, 300 volunteers, specially-abled, Senior citizens,

NGO partners and other community volunteers joined

hands for throwing the seed balls. A cleanliness drive

was also organised where the plastic and other waste

materials were collected for disposal.

On 5 July 2019 UWB conducted a Mega Paper Bag Making event. A total of 600 Paper bags were made by 200 enthusiastic volunteers at Xavier Technical Institute. The initiative was a consecutive event to the seed ball making to carry the seed balls for throwing. The event promoted best out of waste wherein paper bags were made of waste newspapers.

This year 1950 orphans, destitute children and single

parent children were supported of 104 Government

School of Vadodara City under the Vishnubhai Amin

Orphan and Destitute project and the Single parent

children project. A comprehensive kit with educational

materials was distributed to them on 6th September

2019. The gratitude and joy of the children was palpable

and even their educators applauded this gesture.

Educational Get Together

United Fusion Study Foundation Get together was organized on 7th July 2019 at Grand Mercure Hotel, Sayajigunj, Vadodara. Total 237 students had participated and shared their experience with all. A session on “Emotional Intelligence and Positive Attitude” and panel discussion on Career and Study help carried out. The students also shared their personal failure stories and their learnings. 19 laptops have distributed to students. Mr. Rakesh Agrawal, Chairman, United Way of Baroda, Ms. Linda Van Der Wijk, Director, Fusion Study Foundation and Mr. Shivinder Singh Chawla gave motivational speech and project views with a team.

CPR TrainingEntire UWB staff members were trained on Cardio

Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First aid to save lives as

this training provides the confidence and capability to react

immediately to an incident, injury or illness. The training

involved classroom session with practical exposure and

was imparted by our affiliated NGO Partner - Life Line

Foundation.

Medisales inaugurated Anganwadi Centre at Ujeti

Village of Halol Taluka of Panchmahal District that was

refurbished with mural art, ceiling repair and

boundary wall construction to provide a conducive

learning environment to the pre-school children. It

will impact 50 children every year.

volunteering activities for green initiatives in

plantation drive, seed ball making and throwing in

Panchmahal district of Gujarat. Science Lab Inauguration at Savli

A Science lab was inaugurated in Shree Vejnath Vidhyalaya with the corporate support from TD Williamson, which had 68 working models based on NCERT syllabus. 7 Rural schools of Savli will be supported under Jigyasa and Green School P ro j e c t w h i c h fo c u s e s o n ST E M ( S c i e n c e , Technology, Engineering and Math) enhancement and Green initiatives for enhancing curiosity among rural underpr iv i leged students and communities.
