Budva is town on the Adriatic Sea. Part of the Budva Riviera, it’s known for sandy beaches and nightlife. Sveti Stefan was first mentioned in 1442 as a fort near seacoast from which Paštrovići, led by vojvoda Radič repulsed the forces of Stjepan Vukčić Kosača during his offensive in Zeta.According to a legend recounted by Stjepan Mitrov Ljubiša the town fortification was funded after Paštrovići looted Turkish ships moored in front of Jaz during Barbarossa’s siege of Kotor in 1539. The town was razed shortly after during fourth Ottoman-Venetian war. After continuous pleads by Paštrovići, Venetian Republic finally agreed to rebuild it in XVI century. All of the buildings were acquired by the Yugoslav government and turned into an upscale hotel during the communist period.

Zabljak Crnojevica Medieval fortress – historic capital of Crnojević family It was founded in X century by princes of Zeta to serve military causes. It is assumed that the army of despot Stefan Nemanjić dwelt there. As it rose to become the capital in XV century, battles around and for fortress Žabljak increased. At the time it was a “settlement” with 300 households, at the mouth of Morača River and Lake Skadar, with developed commerce, a vital economic and trade centre. Ruler Ivan Crnojević who ruled form 1465 – 1490 fought with the Turks until 1479, when the fortress fell to Turkish reign. And so it remained for four centuries. The palace of Crnojević family was turned into the barracks and the churches of Saint Đorđe into a mosque, and later on into a school. Only one, heavy iron door leads to the town. Today the fortress is composed from walls high up to 15 meters and 2 meters wide with six towers. Over the centuries it was modified. Turkish modifications evident from reckless construction, and older parts of the wall and semicircle tower are built of cut rubble in limestone plaster. Newer parts have characteristics of Venetian construction. Žabljak is presently deserted, but its settlement still lives.

Zabljak Crnojevica Medieval fortress – historic capital of Crnojević family It was founded in X century by princes of Zeta to serve military causes. It is assumed that the army of despot Stefan Nemanjić dwelt there. As it rose to become the capital in XV century, battles around and for fortress Žabljak increased. At the time it was a “settlement” with 300 households, at the mouth of Morača River and Lake Skadar, with developed commerce, a vital economic and trade centre. Ruler Ivan Crnojević who ruled form 1465 – 1490 fought with the Turks until 1479, when the fortress fell to Turkish reign. And so it remained for four centuries. The palace of Crnojević family was turned into the barracks and the churches of Saint Đorđe into a mosque, and later on into a school. Only one, heavy iron door leads to the town. Today the fortress is composed from walls high up to 15 meters and 2 meters wide with six towers. Over the centuries it was modified. Turkish modifications evident from reckless construction, and older parts of the wall and semicircle tower are built of cut rubble in limestone plaster. Newer parts have characteristics of Venetian construction. Žabljak is presently deserted, but its settlement still lives.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT Stand-up-paddling is a popular low impact sport, suitable for anyone from ages 8 to 80. This tour includes instruction on high quality inflatable SUP boards made by ULI. A transfer to the starting point at Solila Beach is included in the price and takes just 15 minutes from either Kotor or Tivat. After becoming acquainted with your paddle-boarding equipment, and a 15-minute lesson, the tour will take approximately 2.5 hours. Experience miles of coastal Montenegro at your own pace and explore its many coves and islets. OVERVIEW The Blue Cave Kayak and Snorkeling Adventure takes you to one of Montenegro’s must see coastal spots, locally known as Plava špilja (The Blue Cave). This is a great place for swimming, snorkeling and underwater photography, this geological attraction can only be accessed by boat or by kayak. Also, a second nearby cave can only be accessed by kayak as the opening is just 1 meter in height.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECTThis 5-6 hour tour begins in either Kotor, Tivat or Budva with free pickup included. A picturesque 35 minute mini bus tour along the winding roads of Lustica Peninsula and on to Uvala Veslo, a dramatic coastal feature great for swimming, snorkeling and launching our kayaks. Heading out we hug the coast before paddling into the Adriatic towards The Blue Cave, the largest in a series of natural excavations that can be easily entered by kayak. A unique feature of the Blue Cave is that the time of day greatly effects the undulating water’s colour; from light blue in the morning to dark blue at mid day, and back again to light blue before sunset. Kayaking to and snorkeling at the Blue Cave is the best way to explore the rocky coastline and the Adriatic’s crystal clear waters. The boat throws some 50 cm of wake and up to 3 passengers and a rider can be present onboard during the session.
