PROGRAM FOR FOREIGN LANGUAGESINTERNATIONAL BUSINESS UNDERGRADUATE

(PININ)

• The University of Guadalajara (UdeG) is
the second largest university of Mexico
and is a decentralized organ of the State
of Jalisco.
• It is well known internationally for events
like Feria Internacional del Libro and Feria
International del Cine (International Book
Fair and International Movie Fair).
Jalisco, México
• Jalisco is the home of Mexican traditions
like mariachi and tequila.
• Its is located in the west pacific side of
Mexico three hours driving distance from
the beach (Puerto Vallarta), six hours
driving distance from Mexico City.
• Its population is around 5 million people.
University of Guadalajara
• The University of Guadalajara has been organizedinto a university network consisting of sixseparate campuses in the GuadalajaraMetropolitan Area, each specializing in a differentarea of study. UdeG also contains eight regionalcampuses outside of the metropolitan area withinthe State of Jalisco.
• The Guadalajara Metropolitan Area is composedof 5 municipalities: Guadalajara, Zapopan,Tlaquepaque and Tonala.
• CUCEA is the University Center of Economic andManagerial Sciences.
CUCEA
• The University Center CUCEA is a campus located in Zapopan,it offers undergraduate and graduate programs for acommunity of 16,000 students.
• 15,000 students of undergraduate programs as:
• Economics, Governmental Administration and Public Policy,Environment Economy and Management, Management,Marketing, International Business, Tourism, HumanResources, Information Systems, Financial Administration,Accounting.
• 1,000 students are enrolled in our of master´s degrees andPhD programs.
PININ
• The PININ (Program for Foreign Languagesfor International Business) is an academicprogram that seeks to improvecommunication abilities in foreignlanguages; mainly English and German (andothers).
• This program is for students of theundergraduate program for internationalbusiness and other economic and businessundergraduate programs.
PININ
• The goal of PININ is to develop CUCEA´s
communication Skills in a multicultural
context with professors of different origins.
• It is our desire to take advantage from the
cooperation programs and agreements that
the University of Guadalajara as well as the
State of Jalisco have already established with
other foreign universities.
PININ
• We are seeking to cooperate specifically
with university programs that offer a
specialization in teaching foreign
languages.
• The expertise from these universities
could help us in our own design,
development and evaluation of learning
strategies in different cultural contexts.
German International Practitioners in PININ
• The program called “German InternationalPractitioners” of PININ, consists on theteaching support of different levels: basic,intermediate and advance English as well asGerman.
• Each level is composed of four modules andeach module of four weeks of intensivecourses (two hours a day, five days a week).The complete program consists of 12modules.
German International Practitioners
• International Practitioners will participate duringa six month period (or one year if it is authorized)of regular teaching. 20 hrs a week with around 60students in total.
• International Practitioners will be supervised byan Academic Council composed by the AcademicSecretary, the Coordinator of Academic Services,the Coordinator of the International BusinessProgram, and the Director of Self Access Centerfor Languages in CUCEA who will be theiracademic tutor.

• International Practitioners will be
supported by the Self Access Center for
Languages in terms of office facilities,
method of teaching, materials for
teaching, etc.
Support
• There is no payment for the practices, but theprogram is offering:
• Weekends and official days off as well as officialuniversity vacation periods so that the internationalpractitioner can participate in Jalisco´s culture.
• Housing for the six month period in a sharedbedroom.
• Free Spanish lessons.
• Free registration in the arts and sports CUCEAworkshops program, (ie, salsa, football, music, etc).
Support
• Books (teacher´s guide) and didactic materials.
• Shared office space for the preparation of
teaching.
• Classrooms with facilities (internet,
computers, audio equipment, blackboard)
• Certificate of the courses taught.

Selection Process.
• B Calendar:
March 15th 2012 – Beginning of Applications
April 31th End of applications
May 1st to 15th Selection process
• Selected international practitioners should be arriving to Guadalajara between 13th ad 15th
August.
