Recent activities are described below. a. Optics Day (celebration of IYL)
On the day of optics we showcased some experiments about the most important phenomena, such as diffraction, interference, refraction, fluorescence, interference, optical color theory, among others. This event took place at our university in the “Plazoleta de la Luz”, a small square named on commemoration of the International Year of Light. In addition to the experiments, we displayed for a week some optical illusions in an exhibition located in the “Plazoleta de la Luz”.

2.3. Projects committee a. Discovering the world of light with the teenagers In this activity we have visited the school “Institución Educativa Cocorná”. This school is located in Cocorna, a small town a hundred miles from Medellin. We got there by bus. Our public was forty teenagers of tenth grade (approximately fifteen years old). We focused the experiments on five topics: optics, light sensors, diffraction, Khet game, white light and color. At the end of the activity we did a round table to review concepts and award prizes. Later we had a snack with the teenagers.
