THE FUND As part of the University Club of Grand Rapids’ effort to give back to the West Michigan

community, the Club created a Scholarship Fund in 2010. It is the goal of the Scholarship Commi2ee to

help students gain career roots in West Michigan and to keep these educated, bright and ambi�ous

poten�al future leaders in our community. With this goal in mind, the Scholarship Fund has been

StretchingandimprovingBlexibilitycanreducemusclesorenessandinjury,aswellasenhancemovement

andoverallphysicalperformance,however,thisisoftenaneglectedpiecetoourworkoutroutine.Not

manyunderstand thebeneBits to incorporating stretching and Blexibility in theirworkouts. Beloware

someofthosebeneBits:

You can improve your physical performance as well as reduce injury with an effective Blexibility routine.Stretchingimprovesyourrangeofmotion,providesmoreBlexibilityinthejoints,andallowsyoutouselessenergy

tomakethesamemovements;thisalllessensyourlikelihoodofinjury.

Researchhasshownthatstretchingcanreducemusclesorenessafterexercise. Slowstaticstretching,graduallyelongating themuscles, and taking them through it’s full range ofmotion, can improvemuscularbalanceandyourposture.
