Congratulations on this very important milestone in your life! With your graduation, you join a community of more than 13,000 University of Minnesota Law School alumni worldwide. Together those alumni have created for you a rich fabric of lifelong mentors, friends, resources, and supporters as you embark on your legal career.

Wherever your career leads you, the Law School community will be your asset. Your cache of relationships with classmates and other alumni of the Law School will be valuable for career development, job opportunities, marketing your practice and other ventures, and personal enrichment. Your days in Mondale Hall will be the catalyst for conversations across the entire arc of your professional and personal life. We encourage you to remain active and engaged in the Law School community, both inside and outside of Mondale Hall. By doing so, you will retain your connection with the Law School, gain opportunities to enhance your professional and personal life, and find avenues to give back to future students and graduates.

Your final semester has been unlike any other. We commend you for the ways you have come together as a class to support each other and Minnesota Law. For the past several years, the Law School’s Alumni & Student Engagement Committee has offered a match to the graduating class gift that is unlocked when a percentage participation goal has been met. This year, we are paying it forward in recognition of your unique situation. Know that alumni are behind you, and that your Class of 2020 gift will already have over $3,000 in it in honor of you and your accomplishments. We are here for you.Welcome to the University of Minnesota Law School alumni community, which consists of over 13,000 alumni all over the world. The Office of Advancement works to maintain a lifelong association with graduates by creating opportunities for you to keep in touch—with the Law School, with the greater University, and with each other. We are a resource for a variety of information and services to assist our alumni worldwide. Below are just a few of the ways that the Office of Advancement keeps alumni connected to each other and to Minnesota Law:

• Hold receptions and networking opportunities both in the Twin Cities and in major metropolitan areas around the country, often hosted by fellow alumni or their firms. Alumni are even invited to some events internationally. • Host the Annual Spring Alumni Weekend, featuring events and a CLE for all alumni as well as special milestone class reunions. Your first Spring Alumni Weekend will be in Spring 2021 where we celebrate your One Year Reunion! • Send out a monthly digest email of upcoming alumni events and volunteer opportunities. • Send out print and electronic versions of the Minnesota Law alumni magazine, celebrating and sharing many alumni success stories and helping our graduates stay updated on developments at the Law School.

• Offer an array of volunteer opportunities – from serving on the Alumni Board of Advisors or one of its committees, to being a firm agent in the Partners at Work giving challenge program, or a reunion volunteer, regional ambassador, admissions recruiter, speaker on campus, or by participating in on-campus recruiting and career options night, to name a few.
