Update on Underutilized Data

5

• Each year UNM required to submit an Affirmative Action Program (AAP) Report

• A snapshot of data taken around end of Oct• UNMJobs is an applicant tracking system that

provides the data to process the AAP report• Provides place for departments to confirm

what staff positions are underutilized and require additional recruitment efforts

Update on Underutilized Data

• For staff positions – Underutilized data is loaded at the classification

• UU Data on staff classifications is representative of placement goals for Main and HSC

• Branch Campus Staff Positions are handled separately – No Branch Campus staff positions are considered Underutilized for this year

Update on Underutilized Data

• Student Positions are not tracked for underutilization

• Underutilization and Faculty Positions• Underutilization data not loaded to

classifications for faculty positions• All faculty recruitments require targeted

recruitments• Data is collected after the recruitment by OEO

Update on Underutilized Data

• UNMJobs Department Originators have the ability to search classifications and view underutilization data for staff positions. Please note the underutilization data shown in the View Search Classification screen applies to Main and North Campus.

Communication on Handling New Underutilized Data

Effective February 16, 2011, the underutilized data displayed on staff position classifications will be updated to reflect our current AAP (Affirmative Action Plan).

10

Communication on Handling New Underutilized DataAs of this date, staff employment transactions will have the potential to change from Underutilized to not Underutilized or vice versa. Therefore it is important that Department Originators take time to review their actions that have not yet been submitted to the Staff Employment Area for any changes in underutilized status.

11

Communication on Handling New Underutilized Data

Even if the underutilized status has changed on positions that are posted as of February 16, a department will not be expected to change their recruitment strategy to address underutilization. If you have any questions regarding the impact of the update of the underutilized data, please contact your HR Consultant or OEO.
