UNTITLED. is an innovation of the traditional art fair model for international galleries and nonprofit art spaces, with a focus on emerging and mid-career contemporary art. Our emphasis on international living artists showcases some of the most exciting contemporary art from across the globe.
OMAR LOPEZ-CHAHOUDOmar Lopez-Chahoud’s curatorial perspective aims at anchoring a younger generation of artists to the past by presenting some of the most diverse and engaging work by emerging, mid-career and established artists from countries around the world. Approximately 50 galleries will be exhibiting at UNTITLED., with 20 to 30 percent of the booths dedicated to solo projects, and the rest limited to two- or three-person exhibitions.
k/R“We wanted the tent design to be a simple structure that is site specific—it’s the only art fair in the world that is located literally on a beach. Because UNTITLED. will be located in Miami Beach—away from the other Miami-based fairs—we have an opportunity to welcome fairgoers from the urban edge, and lead them through an exhibition experience that ends with a view of the beach and the ocean beyond.”
—John Keenen, K/R
Respected architecture firm K/R has designed a structure that highlights the prime beachfront location and creates an engaging environment that maximizes the flow of the space.
parTNersWITH THE SUPPORT OF THE

Central Fine presents Diana Speaks With Animals, a special performance by Georgia Sagri. Sagri’s work is concerned with a redefinition of performative practices, while addressing poetry, decentralization, hyper abstraction, and their existence against the demands of standardized understanding of the notions of culture and praxis.
Georgia Sagri lives in Athens and New york. She has participated at the Whitney Biennial 2012, and has held exhibitions and performances in venues such as MoMa, Ny; PS1 MoMa, Ny; The Guggen-heim Museum, Bilbao; Anthony Reynolds Gallery, London; Real Fine Arts, Ny; Andrew Roth Gallery, Ny;
Terri and Donna Gallery, Miami; The Formalist Side-walk Poetry Club, Miami; Lars Friedrich Gallery, Berlin; SOTOSO, Brussels; and MelasPapadopoulos, Athens; among others. Georgia Sagri has been featured in conversations and articles in publications such as Art Forum magazine, Art in America, Texte Zur Kunst, and the New York Times.
Central Fine is a curatorial project, directed by Diego Singh, modeled after the notion of “the empty mask” that Lacan proposed as the ideal position of the thera-pist. Central Fine presents artists, poets, filmmakers, publications, performers, writers, curators, and galleries, while aiming to remain an “empty place” where participants can upload their subjectivity and produce content.

The Empty Plaza / La Plaza Vacia is a single-channel video. Inspired by the organized public protests in the Middle East beginning in 2011, Fusco took note of the communal spaces around the world being utilized and, in contrast, those left empty. The empty Plaza de la Revolución in Havana, Cuba becomes the protago-nist in Fusco’s meditation on public space, revolution-ary promise, and memory. Intermittent close-range views bring the Plaza’s architecture into focus; long takes documenting Fusco’s passage through the vacant square are punctuated by vintage archival footage depicting scenes from post-revolutionary Cuba. Throughout the duration of the video, a Spanish narra-tion, written by acclaimed Cuban journalist yoani Sanchez, describes what appears—and does not appear—in view.
Coco Fusco is a New york– based interdisciplinary artist and writer. She has
performed, lectured, exhib-ited, and curated around the world since 1988. She is a recipient of a 2013 USA Artists Fellowship and a 2003 Herb Alpert Award in the Arts. Fusco’s perfor-mances and videos have been presented in two Whitney Biennials (2008 and 1993), the Sydney Biennale, the Johannesburg Biennial, the Kwangju

Biennale, the Shanghai Biennale, InSite 05, the 2011 Mercosul Biennial, Transmediale, the London International Theatre Festival, VideoBrasil, and Performa 05. Her works have also been shown at the Tate Liverpool, the Museum of Modern Art, and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Barcelona. She recently premiered a new performance at the Brooklyn Academy of Music’s Fisher Theater.
Initially constructed in response to ideas of design, modernist art, and scientific modeling, the sculptures are made with Plexiglas and semiprecious stones. They hang semi-inertly, fluctuating between: 1. decoration, in the modern-ist integration of design and art; 2. models of the universe, both macro and micro scale; 3. modernist attempts to talk about the unknown; and 4. Brazilian neo-concrete art, its liberatory aspirations here canceled through the use of Brazilian energy stones. Abandoning the figuration of Lehyt’s Drama Projections series, the abstract work questions the manner in which abstraction consti-tutes meaning, with the use of energy stones referenc-ing the historic influence
of spiritual doctrines and esoteric literature on the logic of abstraction.
Cristóbal Lehyt was born in Santiago, Chile, in 1973. He lives and works in New york. Lehyt’s work has been shown internationally, e.g., at Künstlerhaus Stuttgart, Shanghai Biennale, the Mercosul Biennial, Queens Museum, and the Whitney Museum of American Art, among others. His upcoming solo show will take place at Americas Society, New york. Cristóbal Lehyt is represented by Johannes Vogt Gallery, New york.

Approach is a site-specific installation by Emily Noelle Lambert, repurposing wood from old houses, beach debris, flotsam, architectur-al scavenges, and sidewalk finds. While each constitu-ent piece is weighted with its own history, she takes assemblage a step further, giving these found materials a new life by painting, cutting and pegging the pieces together into a totem-like structure. The size and scale of the sculpture is a response to the size of the space.
Cross-pollinating between two- and three-dimensional, the pieces lean into one another and inform each other. The chaos of Lambert’s vocabulary permeates from one medium to another, be it canvas, paper, wood or wall, adding to the physicality of her works.

Irvin Morazan creates fantastical sculptural headdresses that he wears during performances, photographs, and videos. He intertwines old tribal traditions with urban street aesthetics to create new personas that blur the boundaries of stereotypes. In consequence, the per-formances are often hybrid rituals that intend to cross the metaphysical space through spectacle and absurdity. The work draws upon multiple associations and meanings, while valuing history, theory, and both’s relationship to contempo-rary culture.
IRVIN MORAZAN was born in El Salvador, San Salvador in 1976. BFA from the School of Visual Arts, 2003, and MFA from Hunter College. In 2003 Morazan received the Robert Mapplethorpe award for

Photography. Attended the Skowhegan School of Paint-ing and Sculpture in 2009. Irvin Morazan has exhibited nationally and abroad, in-cluding exhibitions in Berlin, Mexico City, El Salvador, and Colombia. In New york, exhibitions include Festival of New Ideas (presented by the New Museum), La MaMa Gallery, HVCCA Museum, Asya Geisberg Gallery, Art in Odd Places, Exit Art, Rush Arts Gallery, Bronx River Art Center, Jersey City Museum, Sean Kelly Gallery, DCKT Gallery, and Jack the Pelican presents. Participated in the El Museo del Barrio S-Files Biennial 2011, which included per-formances in Times Square, Socrates Sculpture Park, and Performa 11. Individual work has been featured on Art in America’s blog, Brooklyn Rail, and the New York Times. Received a Cisneros grant to attend SOMA residency in Mexico City in 2012. Currently works and lives in Brooklyn, New york.
Performance: Monday, December 3 at 8pm.
As if taking a slice out of his large-scale installations composed of everyday garden hoses, Justin Cooper will create a series of totemic sculptures to be sited throughout the UNTITLED. tent. The garden hose—one of several com-mon materials, like PVC pipe, folding chairs, axes, and sea shells, ever pres-ent in Cooper’s work—is the perfect tool for him to create “drawings in space,” and will be complemented by smaller sculptures and works on paper in the booth of Chicago’s monique-meloche gallery.
JUSTIN COOPER (Ameri-can, b. 1976, lives in Ny) has an MFA in sculpture,
performance, and video from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago (2005), a BFA from the University of Colorado (2003), and studied at the Sorbonne, Paris (2002). He had a residency at the Skow-hegan School of Painting and Sculpture in Maine (2007) and was included in the 2003 Colorado Biennial at the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver. Cooper has performed and exhibited work worldwide, in Hong Kong, Berlin, Rio de Janeiro, Brooklyn, Philadel-phia, London, Los Angeles, Mexico and Sweden. In 2012, Cooper and a long-time collaborator, Ross Moreno, performed at the Sculpture Center, Socrates Sculpture Park in Queens, New york; Synchronic-ity Space, Los Angeles; Dixon Place, New york; and RedLine, Milwaukee.

Los Jaichackers (Spanglish for the hijackers) is a col-laboration between artists Eamon Ore-Giron (based in Los Angeles) and Julio Ce-sar Morales (based in San Francisco). Functioning as both a creative consultancy and an artistic collabora-tion, Los Jaichackers pro-duce music, film, sculpture, installation, performance, and music videos, as well as curate programs enlisting the talents of bands, guest lecturers, and performers, with the goal of tracing the global DNA of emerging musical subcultures in Latin America, the border, the United States, and abroad.
Eamon Ore-Giron and Julio Cesar Morales have created
both collaborative and individual projects for Deitch Projects, New york; Queens Nails Annex, San Francisco; UCLA Hammer Museum, Los Angeles; the San Diego Museum of Contemporary Art, yerba Buena Center for The Arts, San Francisco; Fototeca de Havana, Cuba; Pennsylva-nia Academy of The Fine Arts, Philadelphia; Peres Projects, Los Angeles; and MUCA Roma in Mexico City. Parker Ito will present From Me 2 U, From U 2 Me, an iPad lounge celebrating creative leisure that will be available to all visitors of the fair. The lounge will consist of rugs designed by Ito, beanbag chairs designed by six fellow artists (Petra Cor-tright, Dora Budor + Maja Cule, Katja Novitskova, Aude Pariset, Jon Rafman, and Kate Steciw) and iPads. Visitors can browse the Internet alongside Ito, or they can create a work of art using various applica-tions on the iPads.
Across the aisle, in Steve Turner Contemporary’s booth, Ito will present a multimedia installation, consisting of paintings and a video. The paintings are from The Agony and the Ecstasy, a series that utilizes the highly reflective material of 3M Scotchlite to make documentation of the works nearly impos-sible—when using flash to photograph the works, the nuances of the painted surface are obliterated. The installation images thus
become an extension of the works and gain status in their own right, as they get distributed via the Internet. Ito will also present a video, America Online Made Me Hardcore, that documents one-and-a-half years of his life during which he trav-eled to meet other artists, whom he met through social network sites. In present-ing these projects together, Ito will contextualize the impact of the Internet on the creation and distribution of traditional art objects.
Born in 1986, Ito earned a BFA from the California Col-lege of the Arts in 2010, and currently lives in New york and Los Angeles. Recent exhibitions include The Agony and the Ecstasy, Sta-dium, New york; Vice Versa, with Brad Troemel, Tomor-row Gallery, Toronto; and Wet Paint 4, Steve Turner Contemporary, Los Ange-les. In February 2013, Ito will have his first solo exhibition at Steve Turner, followed by solo exhibitions in May at The Hole, New york and Preteen Gallery, Mexico City.
