We had a great July caped off with yesterday’s celebration of our Child Care Center and our Ministry Celebration. We heard a number of ministry and administrative reports last night that were inspiring. I am thankful for those who are leading their teams to both continue ministries and discover new ones so that we can make a different in the lives of others for God. This Sunday, we will resume our traditional worship experience and return to the previous schedule of refreshments at 8:30, Sunday School at 9 and worship at 10. Thrive worship gatherings are on the second Sunday of each month until we launch weekly. Jeremiah is hosting a training event this Sunday night at 5 p.m. for those who are taking the S.H.A.P.E. analysis and seeking to be part of our launch team. During August, you are invited to fill out the ministry preference form and turn it in by August 20th. Our Lay Leadership Team will be using it to create the ministry teams for 2018. We will have our stewardship and discipleship emphasis during September. The Finance Team will use your estimate of giving cards to create the budget for 2018. The Lay Leadership report and the preliminary budget will be presented the last Sunday of October. This will be our last Ministry Celebration for this year so please plan to attend. You will hear about our upcoming W.E.A.C. meals and Group Life soon that starts in October. This is always a great time of reconnecting though fellowship and study. Believe it or not, we are already planning our special service for Advent and Christmas called “Friends & Family Nights.” I am thankful for all the solid planning that we do and those who implement and take action so that we are not just hearers of the words, but doers too!

VOLUNTEERS FOR TUTORING …. Have you given
any thought to helping with tutoring (reading
and math flash cards) at Hueytown Elementary? I
am still in need of volunteers. Only 1-2 hours per
week during the school day. The young life you
help may make a lifelong impact on the child
(and you!).
REMINDER..... The Community Children's
Christmas party shopping happens all year. We
have a good start but if you would like to make a
contribution to sponsor a child it will be greatly
appreciated.
Thank you for your prayers, love and generosity
to the missions of FUMCH.
