Dear Parents and Guardians,

It is with great pleasure and enthusiasm that I get to become a member of the Mitchell Elementary community!! Let’s go Dragons. I feel truly honored to become the Elementary Assistant Principal in Charge to positively impact every student’s performance and school experience.

A little background about myself: I began to pursue an educational career, while teaching English to adults at the Spanish Center in Kenosha. The smile on their faces while I taught them gave me my calling to become an educator. I graduated for Rockford College with a Masters Degree in Teaching. While teaching in Racine Unified as a Dual Language Teacher in kindergarten, first grade, and fifth grade teacher, I realized I would be able to make a bigger impact on students as a Principal. Therefore, I began my journey through Concordia University to receive my Principal and a Director of Instruction Licensures. This then lead me as the Assistant Principal at SC Johnson, which lead me here to Mitchell.

At Mitchell Elementary we recognize that in order to be successful our children need support form both home and school. That being said we know that a strong partnership with you will make a great difference in your child’s education. In order to have successful students we ask that you guide and support your child’s learning by ensuring he/she:

1. Attend school daily and arrive on time ready to learn.2. Complete all assignments given by their teachers.3. Reads daily to develop a love for reading.4. Shares with you their experiences at school.5. Knows that you expect him/her to succeed

Each Student will be receiving the Code Book of Rights and Responsibilities that you and your child should review together. It is very important that you and your child are fully informed regarding standards related to appropriate behavior for a safe and productive school year. If you have any questions about the rules and expectations, please feel free to contact me or to discuss them with your child’s teacher.

The awesome Mitchell Staff and I feel privileged to be a part of this school family. We thank you for your support and look forward to working with you.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Márquez

Estimados padres y tutores,

Atentamente,

Sra. Márquez
