LAKE HAZEL MIDDLE SCHOOL - MAIN GYM
GUEST SPEAKER - ERIC EXLINE, DIRECTOR OF
COMMUNITY RELATIONS, WEST ADA SCHOOL DISTRICT
West Ada School District voters will be voting on March 10th on a proposed
levy for the construction of new schools in the district. Many voters have questions
about exactly where the money will go, why the district needs the bond, and how
much it will cost them annually. Eric Exline will present all the latest information,
and answer all of your questions.

More information about the bond can be found on the District
website at: www.westada.org. You are also encouraged to attend
our CDSA PTA meeting on Mar. 5 at 4:00 p.m.
We will look for you in our school library.
END OF 2ND TRIMESTER
GRADES K - 5
February 27th marked the end of 2nd
trimester for grades K-5. In order for
teachers to get all grades entered into
Power School, we will be temporarily
turning off Power School to parents and
students for these grades only. You will
again have access to all student infor-
mation on Friday, March 6th.
Toys at School
Per the Student Handbook, students are not to bring toys or other valua-bles to school except for educational purposes. Please have your child keep their valuables, including Pokemon or other trading cards, at home. These items are deemed inappropriate for school. Thank you for your under-
standing.
Donnell Stars Shine at Region
Spelling Bee! Congratulations to our participants who took part in the Multi-School
Spelling Bee on February 6th. Donnell students made an impressive showing and were great competitors against the other teams. 6th graders Dani Butler took 2nd place and Emma Frederick took 3rd 5th graders Hyrum Matthews took 2nd place and Halle Dastrup took 3rd. 2nd grader Kaydene Frianeza took 2nd place And our very own Madelyn Lambert took 1st place for 4th grade! Donnell’s PTA and staff thank our participants for all their dedication to this year’s Spelling Bee. Thank you, too, to Caroll Fuhriman for organizing the Bee again this year!
Counselor’s Corner! Our School will participate in the “Pennies for Patients” campaign to support the Leukemia and Lympho-
ma Society.
Pennies for Patients is a service learning, character education, and philanthropy program that gives stu-
dents a unique experience by making a difference through teamwork—working together to aid thousands
of children and adults in the fight against blood cancers like leukemia.
How it Works: Students collect money over a three-week period during March 2nd to March 20th. The
money can come from friends or relatives or underneath the couch cushions. What's important is that it's
collected! We need your support. Please explore the LLS website to learn more about the School & Youth programs and what you can do to support your child's efforts. Should you have questions, please feel free to me.
Your child will learn firsthand just how powerful he/she can be in helping others!

2015-2016 Kindergarten
Orientation and Registration
Information
The lottery to select kindergarten students for the 2015-2016 school year has taken place. All applicants were notified via e-mail regard-ing the results of the lottery. CDSA will be conducting our kinder-garten registration on Friday, March 13 from 9 AM to 1 PM. Regis-tration is designed for us to do a quick evaluation with your kinder-
garten child. Normal appointments take approximately 15-30 minutes.
Prior to the appointment, make sure you have completed
the on-line registration. If you have not registered, please visit
www.ada-reg.phoenixlearning.com to complete this process.
You will also be asked to download the state certified Birth Certifi-cate, Immunization Records and Proof of Residence. We also ask that you bring the downloaded documents to registration for verifi-
cation purposes.
Immunizations required for kindergarten are: 5 DTaP, 4 Polio, 2 MMR, 3 Hepatitis B, 2 Hepatitis A, 2 Varicella. Children awaiting
immunizations will need proof of appointment from the doctor’s of-fice. Incomplete documents will result in your child not being able to
participate in registration.
We have also rescheduled the kindergarten orientation for Thursday, April 2 at 5:30PM. This session will give parents an
overview of kindergarten, curriculum as well as tuition kindergarten. Please plan to attend this session if possible.
