In order to update your M-Nav device to reflect the latest maps you will need to utilise the Garmin Express software. This enables you to update your M-Nav from your computer and will provide notifications when new updates are available. See the Download Garmin Express Easy Guide for installation instructions.

Connect

Click the Garmin Express icon in your system tray in the bottom right hand corner of your screen (Figure 1)

The Garmin Express window will appear, click Add a Device (Figure 2)

You will be asked to Plug in a Device (Figure 3)

Using the USB to Micro USB cable provided with the M-Nav (Figure 4)

Connect the M-Nav to your computer (Figure 5)

Update

Once the device has been detected you will be asked to go through the Setup steps, including optional Registration, Nickname for the Device and Data Collection. Specify your options then click Next and finally Yes or No to data collection (Figure 6)

Once this has been done, the Gamin Express Dashboard will appear showing the setup is complete, and that there is a new update available. Click Install (Figure 7)

Garmin Terms and Conditions will appear, you will need to read and click Accept to proceed with the update (Figure 8)

The Update window will show the preparation step (Figure 9)

Step 2 will update the M-Nav (Figure 10)

That’s it! The Dashboard will show your M-Nav is up to date (Figure 11)

Disconnect

Safely disconnect the M-Nav from your computer from the System Tray using the Safely Remove Hardware button (Figure 12)

Then select Eject… (Figure 13)

It is now safe to disconnect the cable from the M-Nav and computer (figure 14)
