Upload Sysprep files to vCDThe following steps (screenshots) will guide you to upload the Microsoft Sysprep files to vCloud Director (vCD) appliance.

Task 1 – Enable ssh in vCD so that WinSCP can copy the files from your local PC to the file system of vCD.1) Use Web Client to logon to vCenter Server Appliance

2) Switch to Hosts and Clusters view

3) Highlight vCD appliance on the left pane and click launch console. (you need to ensure that your web browser has already installed the VMRC Client Integration plug-in).

4) Login using vCD (root/password) administrative account. Hit enter at Login.

5) Successfully logged in.

6) The objective is to edit /etc/ssh/sshd_config file and change the PermitRootLogin line to yes. Firstly, cd to /etc/ssh

7) Type vi sshd_config

8) Scroll to the line that has PermitRootLogin

9) move cursor to no and hit the “I” key, use backspace or delete key to erase it.

10) Enter yes.

11) Hit the escape key, then “:wq”

12) the config file is modified and saved.

13) Type exit at the prompt to logout. Hit Ctrl-Alt key to move the mouse cursor back to the screen.

14) Do not forget to restart the ssh service by typing service sshd restart at the prompt.

Task 2 – Upload Sysprep files to the file system of vCD

15) Start up WInSCP program
