Schemes you are using. Each type of Power Scheme will

bringup

adifferent

option

that

will

save

power.

YoucanChangethesettingsforMonitor,HardDisk,Standbytime,

HibernateTimeetc.Afterthatsettimetherequiredactionwilltake

place. InWindows 7, thesepower saving tricks are automatically

enabled.

CloseUnnecessaryPrograms

Look at the programs that start up along with youroperating system. If you don't have to use them

immediately, right click on the icon and go into options.

month,

UPS

should

purge

and

discharge

batteries

to

prolongtheirlife.TopurgeaUPS,SwitchOFFtheACPower.TurnONtheComputerand

lettheUPSdrainuntilthelowbatterywarning(AudioSound)beepsfaster.SwitchONthe

ACPowerandlettheUPSchargefor16Hours,whilekeepingtheComputerOFF.

Bestmethodtopurgethebatterywithoutanypossibledamagetodata/HARDDisk.Enter into

BIOSSetup(PressDelorF2Key)andkeepthePCintheBIOSscreenanddrainthebattery.

Most UPS users forget this and one fine day, the UPS will give backup in less than 2MinutesorevengiveNOBACKUPatall.

IfthePowerFailure isfrequentandunpredictable.PleasesaveyourworkandShutdown(ReadHibernate)theComputerandtheUPS.ThiskeepstheUPSreadyforthenextpower

failure.Orelse,afteraBackupuse,iftheUPSisnotchargedforaminimumof6hours,the

batterywontbear the loadofCRTMonitors.And therewillbeanOperatingSystemor

HardDiskcrash.NoworrywiththesmallsizedLCDsandLEDs.

Storeitproperly.IfyoudontexpecttouseyourUPSforamonthormore,itsagoodideatostoretheUPS Chargetoitsfullcapacity Removeallpoweroutletwiresandplugsand

storeinacoolplace.LeadAcidbatteriesneedstobestoredwithfullcharge.

Don'tdroportilttheUPS. Don'texposetomoisture,wateroranyliquidsliketea,coffee&juices. Donotcoverit;donotpileFiles,CDs,DVDs,andBooksovertheUPS. Allowittobreathefree.Atleastkeep2to4inchgaponallsides. UPSgetswarmedup,whileCHARGINGonnormaluse.Ifitisgettingtoohot,theremaybe

aproblemwiththedeviceandaqualifiedtechnicianshouldcheckit.

Battery replacement On an average, the life span of UPS batterieswill be 2 years, ifmaintainedwell,itisrecommendedtochangebatteriesEvery3Years.

60%

in

less

than

5minutes,

you

should

consider

replacing

yourbatteriesorupgradingtoalargerVAunit.
