Trying to use an eBook?

If you are in Ebrary, simply use the Search or Browse. Then you can download your book, or read it online.

To download books from Maine InfoNet Download Library, you may need to

download an app first.

What is an app? Well, according to Dictionary.com, an app is: "an application, typically a small, specialized program downloaded onto mobile devices."

The app you need is called Overdrive.

Download the Overdrive app on our Mobile Apps page.

If you are on an iPad or iPhone download Apple, if you are on a different mobile device download Android.

If you have a Kindle, you do not need an app.

If you do not have a mobile device, such as a tablet, you can still borrow eBooks and read them online in your Internet browser.

You are now ready to borrow and

download eBooks.

Before you start looking for books, make sure to Sign In to your account.

You will need to enter your library’s name, and your library card number. This number is 2644000+ Your 7 digit EMCC Student ID.

To add a book to your bookshelfyou need to Borrow it. You will then gain access to the eBook.

If your device is nota Kindle, your format is Adobe EPUB.

OverDrive Read is to read online.

If you do not have a mobile device or a Kindle, click Read to open the book using Overdrive Read in your Internet browser.

You need Internet access to read online. You can bookmark your place for later.

To read the eBook on your Kindle or your mobile device, click Download.

Once you download the book, you will have access to that eBook on your device offline.

To download the eBook as a Kindle book, check the appropriate box and then click Confirm & Download.

No further steps are needed. You should now have the book loaded on your Kindle.

If you are using any other mobile device and want to download the book, click Adobe EPUB eBook and then Confirm & Download.

Adobe EPUB eBooks open in the OverDriveapp.

After downloading, you can access your eBook any time by opening the OverDriveapp on your mobile device.

After the loan period is up, you will lose access to the eBook. There are never any fines or charges associated with eBooks.
