Chona Camomot

• Chona Camomot is an Emmy-award winning on-air reporter and multimedia producer for the Boston Globe. A native of Louisville, Ky., Camomot graduated from Indiana University-Bloomington in 2004 with a B.A. in Journalism with. In 2007, she received a Master's of Arts in Broadcast Journalism from Emerson College and began fervently searching for on-air television reporter positions. In the interim, she freelanced with the Boston Globe -- or, as she describes it, "taking a chance on the Internet." The experience ultimately led to a full-time position as a multimedia producer with boston.com, the Globe's Web-based content component, where Camomot was responsible for shooting and editing her own video content and producing video for reporters and photographers.

• In May 2009, she won two Emmy nods for vastly different videos she co-produced: a sports piece on a tradition at Celtics games and a feature on yo-yo expert Guy Wright. Camomot was intricately involved with the Globe's series on the late Senator Ted Kennedy, as well as breaking news coverage of his death and Boston funeral.

• In 2010, Camomot was promoted to the position of anchor for the newspaper's new Globecast project. In addition to appearing as an on-air personality, Camomot will also be responsible for writing scripts and producing the newscast four times per week.
