Requirements in Rule and Code(R277-531 and 53A-8a)

• The Utah Effective Teaching Standards (UETS) will serve as the basis for district educator evaluation systems throughout the state of Utah.

• The focus is on the improvement of high quality instruction and improved student achievement.

• The standards describe what effective teachers

must know and be able to do. • It is expected that educators will use the Utah

Effective Teaching Standards to improve practice.
