PEARSON’S ACHIEVEMENTS 1

He was one of the architects of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). Pearson was chairman of the NATO council at the time of the Korea War and sat on the three-man United Nations (UN) committee that negotiated Korean cease-fire.

PEARSON’S ACHIEVEMENTS 2

In 1952-53, Pearson was president of the UN General Assembly. He was awarded the 1957 Nobel peace prize, mainly for his work in creating the UN Emergency Force, which helped settle the Suez Canal crisis in 1956.
