Installation of nearly 5,000 linear feet of 8-inch pipe in the Valley View area of Dunwoody
• Part of the DeKalb County CIP project list
• Improved water service to the Valley View community
• Replace undersized lines and improve fire service
• Eliminate water main breaks
• Reduce loss of water pressure

Project Rationale
PROJECT SCOPE
• Water main replacement on:o Valley View Road – 3,557 feet
o Valley View Court – 1,426 feet
• Installation of new water meters
• Installation of new hydrants
• Restoration of lawns, driveways and pavements disturbed as a result of the project

Preliminary Project Schedule:
• Late October/early November – Start of construction, site mobilization, traffic control implementation
• Early November to February/March – Water main, meter and hydrant installation
o Pressure testing
o Bacterial testing and chlorination
o New water main service connections (water shut-offs)
o Driveway restoration
• February/March to April – Lawn restoration (seeding/sod installation and watering)

Potential Project Impacts:
• Temporary, single-lane closures; flaggers to direct traffic through construction zone
• Lawn excavations within county right-of-way to install new pipe
• Some instances of restricted driveway access as pipe is installed; prior notice to affected properties
• Temporary water shut-offs as new pipe is connected for service; prior notice to affected properties
• Possible delays due to weather
