Bill Evans Soul Grass Band10 November (Noviembre) @ 20.30

> Throughout his career of over 20 years as an artist, saxophonist Bill Evans has explored a variety of musical styles that go beyond the limits of traditional jazz, including fusion, reggae, soul and funk. He began studding piano before clarinet and saxophone, giving classical piano concerts as young as 16. Following univer-sity, Evans joined the Miles Davis Band where he was a member for 5 years, followed by a number of major musical projects in which he led and collaborated with some of the all-time greats. He has been touring almost exclusively with his own band since 1990, with 80 concerts annually throughout the world. > Con más de 20 años de carrera como artista, el saxofonista Bill Evans ha explorado una gran variedad de estilos musicales más allá de los límites del jazz tradicional incluyendo la fusión, el reg-gae, soul y funk. Comenzó estudiando piano, antes del clarinete y el saxo, interpretando conciertos de piano clásico a la tierna edad de 16 años. > This fun musical tells the story of two young people who meet in a nightclub and end the night having sex in a vulgar toilet. When finished, they realise that something is wrong, they cannot be separated from each other, they are literally “stuck” (pegados). After a series of unsuccessful tricks to separate, they decide to go the hospital where the doctor makes them wait. Why? Because the same doctor is also the pianist in charge of the soundtrack for this outrageous situation – an eternal wait for the young couple, but wildly comical and musical for the audience.

> Este divertido musical cuenta la historia de dos jóvenes que se conocen en una discoteca y terminan la noche consumando el acto sexual en un vulgar lavabo. Al terminar, se darán cuenta que algo no va bien, no pueden separarse el uno del otro, están lite-ralmente “Pegados”. > Carl Orff´s masterpiece “Carmina Burana” returns to Mallorca with 150 performers on stage together with the simultaneous screening of video creations. A powerful piece of 20th century music that introduces all to the world of classical music. The world premiere in 1937 Germany was a tremendous hit that spread across opera houses becoming an international triumph. A collection of songs about wine, women and love, based on poems in Latin, German and French from a manuscript dated 1280 found in the Benedictine monastery of Beuren. Under the direction of Fernando Marina, two pianos, percus-sion, choir, soloists and 100 musicians take the stage. > La obra maestra de Carl Orff, “Carmina Burana”, vuelve a Palma con 150 artistas sobre el escenario junto a unas simultáneas video creaciones en pantalla. Una impactante pieza del siglo XX que incor-pora todo un mundo de la música clásica. 2monos is the result of the combined effort of two artists specialising in the fields of architecture and sculpture that break the stereotypes in order to offer original, personalised and high quality products.

Their success is based on the concept of ‘Slow Design’, meaning, self-production – they themselves are responsible for every phase of the process, from design, to search for materials, to its development and distribution. This allows them to experiment, consider emotions, and enhance aspects sacrificed by the industrial production.

The result is a hybrid between pieces of art, furniture and design – of-ten from found objects and recycled materials – in which experimen-tation and research of the components are expressed through crafts-manship. In their job, recycling is an important concept both from an environmental and economic standpoint, besides being a creative challenge.

The excitement and enthusiasm of the duo has led them to a continual state of production, in addition to organising projects for cultural dif-fusion such as “Factor Glocal” and creating a permanent space in their workshop to exhibit both their work and the work of other artists. www.2monos.com

2monos es el resultado de la combinación de dos artistas especial-izados en los campos de la arquitectura y la escultura que rompen con los estereotipos establecidos para ofrecer productos originales, personalizados y de calidad.

Su éxito se basa en el concepto de ‘Slow Design’, es decir, apuestan por la autoproducción: ellos mismos se encargan de todas y cada una de las fases del proceso, desde el diseño, pasando por la búsqueda de los materiales, hasta su realización y distribución. Esto les permite experimentar, tener en cuenta las emociones y potenciar los aspectos sacrificados por la producción industrial.

El resultado son piezas híbridas entre arte, mobiliario y diseño –a menudo a partir de objets trouvés y materiales reciclados – en las que los componentes experimentación e investigación se expresan a través de técnicas artesanales. En su trabajo el reciclaje en un con-cepto importante desde el punto de vista ambiental y económico, además de representar un desafío creativo.

La ilusión y entusiasmo de sus integrantes les llevan a estar siem-pre en constante producción, además de organizar proyectos para la difusión cultural como “Factor Glocal” o disponer de un espacio de showroom en su taller, donde exhiben su trabajo y el de otros artistas.
