What is a Vendor Page?A Spiceworks Vendor Page is your online HQ to interact with real IT pros who use your stuff, to get to know your potential customers and to build a community around your brand. IT decision makers and channel players can follow your brand in our IT social network, and you can stay in front of them with relevant news and promos.

Vendor Page Dashboard (Admin Actions)These data points are, for the most part, just about your vendor page and not interactions in the rest of the community.1. Follower Activity shows (1) how many new

followers you’ve gained this week and (2) for all time. It also shows you a chart for over time and your latest five followers.

2. Wall Activity shows how many new posts were made this week and by how many different community members.

3. My Community Activity will display all full Partners associated with the vendor page who have posted this week and how many times they have posted.

Manage Profiles (Admin Actions)Manage Profiles is easy to confuse with managing your user profile but it is really for managing your vendor page’s profile. These are the details that will show up on your “About” section.

1. Most of these fields are self-explanatory.

2. “Create New” creates a new vendor page profile which can be used for localized content. If you are interested in doing this, please let your representative here at Spiceworks know.

Contacts (Manage Profiles)Under each profile, you can designate what contacts are shown on your vendor page’s homepage and who is not.

1. Simply left-click and hold on a person to move them

2. Names above the grey line will be shown on the “Talk To” section

3. Names below the grey line will not be shown on the “Talk To” section

4. Add additional page contacts does not work; please submit these requests to your representative here at Spiceworks.

Tab Types

There are multiple tab types that can be added to a vendor page.1. Vendor Forum – This is generally labeled as “Activity” and is place where

vendor page managers can share content (conversations) with followers. This is the only tab type that must remain unique.

2. Feed – Using this tab type, you can pull data from any valid RSS feed such as a blog.

3. Feature – Previously called the “Overview” tab, this tab has two columns and multiple rows of information.

4. Product – Will pull up to 10 product pages (Ratings & Reviews) associated with your vendor page so users can find them (and rate them!)

5. Video – Coming Soon™

6. Custom – This is a content block tab where practically anything done with HTML can be done with this tab type. This is the only tab type that must be purchased individually and does not come by default with the upgraded vendor page.

Manage Tabs (Manage Profiles)Under each profile, you can manage and sort what tabs are displayed and even set one to be the first viewed by new visitors.

1. You can move a tab by holding (left click) on to the name of the tab and puling it up or down. Note that unpublished tabs cannot be moved to the published tab area until they are published.

2. Name is the (custom) Name given to each tab

3. Visibility shows if a tab is published or not

4. The “Default” tab is the tab new users will visit when going to your vendor page (this is set within the tab’s properties)

5. Tabs that’s row is shaded grey are unpublished tabs

Tab ManagementMost tab management is done by going to the Tabs area within the profiles section and then clicking on the name of the tab you want to manage.

Each Tab Type has different options but you can update the Name of each tab, Publish or Unpublish(called Hidden on the tab) each one, and set a single tab to the “default tab”. Not only published tabs can be selected to be the default tab.

to your Account Manager here at Spiceworks to get yours updated.

2. While it says “Ask a Question”, you can use this to update your Followers. Every time you add a new conversation, it informs your follows. Try to update this 1 to 3 times a week.

3. This lists previous discussions as well as Partner engagements in the rest of the community.

Things to Consider and Do

1. Update your Activity Tab at least once to three time each week. Not only does that content go out to follower’s in their feed, it can be highlighted in our weekly Vendor Page Digest.

2. Engageable Content is king in Spiceworks.

3. While not necessary, a header image really helps a vendor page pop. If you do not have someone who can work on it, let your Account Manager here at Spiceworks know since we do have a creative team that can assist with things such as this

4. Use the Promotional Block to keep users aware of things you have going on whether it is a video, contest, promotion, etc. Again, let your Account Manager know if you have any requests for this.

5. If you have Product Pages on your Review tab that need updates, let us know. Furthermore, if you don’t have Product Pages but would like some, also let us know.
