Introduction: A Faculty Entrepreneurship programme is being conducted by National Foundation of Indian Engineers and Tecnia Institute of Advanced Studies. The programme is being sponsored by GOI, Ministry of Science and Technology, Department of Science and Technology, National Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board (NSTEDB). Through this training, faculty members would be trained in Entrepreneurial traits so that they can act as resource persons in guiding and motivating young professionals to be entrepreneurships of tomorrow. The faculty Development Programme (FDP) will provide inputs on process and practices of entrepreneurship development, communication and inter – personal skills, creativity, problem solving, achievement motivation, training and inputs on resource and knowledge industries. The training methodology would include case studies, group discussion, games and simulation exercise, field visits and classroom lectures. Objectives: FDP aims at equipping teachers with skills and knowledge that are essential for inculcating entrepreneurial values in students and guiding their interests towards entrepreneurial career. Tecnia Institute of Advanced Studies organized a Two weeks FDP Programme jointly with National Foundation of Indian Engineers and under the sponsorship of Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India, from 26th Dec 2017 to 8th Jan 2018 on the topic Entrepreneurship Development. Dr. Anita Gupta, Advisor/Scientist G and Associate Head, National Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Board, Ministry of Science & Technology, New Delhi graced this Occasion as the Chief Guest. Other Dignitaries present in the Inaugural Session were Prof.(Dr.) P.K. Gupta, Secretary General, NAFEN, Dr. R. K. Gupta, Chairman, TIAS, Prof.(Dr.) A. K. Srivastava, Chief Executive, TIAS, Dr. Ajay Kumar, Director, TIAS, and Dr. Sudhir Dawra, Coordinator – FDP were present on this occasion.

Day – 26th December, 2017

MORNING SESSION Session - I Time: 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM Activity: Registration 15 Faculty from one Institute got themselves registered. Session – II Time: 11:00 AM – 1:30 PM Activity: Inauguration Welcoming the Guests, Lighting the Lamp, the distinguished Guest and the members of the Inaugural

Dr. Ajay Kumar, Director, TIAS: He started opening remarks by welcoming the Chief Guest, Dr. Anita Gupta, & Dr. P.K. Gupta, Secy.

General and the faculty participants from Institutes and outlined the importance of such FDP

Programme. While giving brief information about the Institute, he appraised the gathering of its

achievement, various programmes/extra-curricular activities conducted by the Institute and its efforts

towards developing entrepreneurial environment in the society by entrepreneurial mindset in the

students.

Chief Executive, Dr. A.K. Srivastava, elaborated on the importance of the FDP. He also made note on

the Skill India scheme by Govt. of India, employment and entrepreneurship

Prof. (Dr.) P.K. Gupta, Secretary General, NAFEN: Dr. P.K. Gupta outlined the objectives of the FDP Programme. He emphasized to infuse some

entrepreneurial inputs to the faculty participants so that these trainers could train & motivate the

students in their classes.

The next speaker of the session was Dr. R. K. Gupta, Chairman, Tecnia Group of Institutes. He narrated

his struggling day’s stories. He also spoke of the many aspects that one should take care of as an

entrepreneur

The day’s chief guest Dr. Anita Gupta, Advisor/Scientist G and Associate Head, National Science and

Technology Entrepreneurship Board, Ministry of Science & Technology, New Delhi briefly explains the

condition of engineering graduates who passes out and employable. 15 lac such students passes out

every year and only 30% of them are employable. She focused on the problems faced by the nation

and said that it should be identified where these problems lie and in which field. He elaborated on how

to inculcate the culture of entrepreneurship among our youths. She also said that she is not

complaining but to find solution to the challenges are the objectives of the Department of Sc. &

Technology (a research funding body). He informed the audience the different functional areas of

DST(training programs, R&D etc.). She cited some example stories of entrepreneurship, their successes

and failures, etc. She winded up her speech by wishing the programme a grand success.

AFTERNOON SESSION Name of the Resource Person: Prof. (Dr.) P.K. Gupta, Secretary General, NAFEN Session – III Time: 02:30 PM – 03:30 PM Topic: Evolution of Management Dr. Gupta elaborated the evolution phase of the management in details. He said the management is ceasing the opportunity with the help of resources available at its command. PM Session - IV Time: 03:30 PM – 05:00 PM Topic: Introduction to Entrepreneurship He explained the meaning, definition and other conceptual aspects of the Entrepreneurship. Dr. Gupta discussed at length about the characteristics of the Entrepreneurship. He said the desire to take up the responsibility is the key to get success to become entrepreneur.

2nd Day – 27th December, 2017 MORNING SESSION Name of the Resource Person: Ms. Manisha Gill, Consultant Psychologist Session - I Time: 10:30 AM – 01:00 PM Topic: Management By Objective MBO is a systematic and organized approach that that allows management to focus on achievable goals and to attain the best possible result from the available resources. The mbo style is appropriate for knowledge based enterprise when your staff is competent. The balance between management and employee empowerment is required

Lunch Break – 01:00 PM – 02:00 PM AFTERNOON SESSION Session – III Time: 02:00 PM – 05:00 PM Topic: Time Management Balance between professional & personal life is very important which is possible only if one has control on time….it also reduce effort and reduce stress. Flexibility in time management is the important means for effectiveness. She said that achievers manage their time and they have following characteristics. A. They solve problems instead of blaming. B. They mentally rehearse actions and events. C. They know when to stop. Persons who are innovative, challenge-takers, curious, creative do the work in a better way.

3rd Day – 28th December, 2017 MORNING SESSION Name of the Resource Person: Prof. P.N. Kathuria, QMS Auditor & Former AGM, SAIL- Bokaro Session - I Time: 10:30 AM – 01:00 PM Topic: Communication Skills Prof. Kathuria explained the meaning and importance of the Communication. He explained various aspect of the Communication in details. Prof. P.N. Kathuria emphasized that Communication plays very important role towards enhancing personality of any individual. Participants were given assignment on Communication. Lunch Break – 01:00 PM – 02:00 PM AFTERNOON SESSION Session – III Time: 02:00 PM – 05:00 PM Topic: Stress Management Speaker explained the meaning and concept of Stress. Prof. Kathuria told that Stress is an interface that disturbs one’s health and mental well being. Stress occurs when the body is required to perform

beyond its normal range of capabilities. He explained the Boss & Ross concept of stress with different graphs & charts. Explained the

techniques of avoiding the stress.

4th Day – 29th December, 2017 MORNING SESSION Name of the Resource Person: Ms. Manisha Gill, Consultant Psychologist Session - I Time: 10:30 AM – 01:00 PM Topic: Management of Change Ms. Gill said that change is the result of reform or innovation. Society is forced to change by the innovators, but people hate changes. She explained various aspects of the Management of Change. Speaker said killing fear is the first sign of change. She concluded her speech by saying that the change is the only thing that will never change, so it is better to adopt it. She suggested that Entrepreneurs must be flexible to the conditions around. Explained the Kotler’s eight steps model of change. Lunch Break – 01:00 PM – 02:00 PM AFTERNOON SESSION Session – II Time: 02:00 PM – 05:00 PM Topic: Personality Development Ms. Gill discussed at length about the Personality. What is the personality? Personality always changes as per the changing scenario and it depends upon the mind set& mental condition of the person. She said that Good personality depends upon the sound health and healthy mind. She said that as per social scientist the Personality is the sum total of behavior, attitude, belief &

values. Characters of personality. She said that Self Identification is the best attitude towards the

personality development. As per her the self projection is the best tool for personality development

and time management is an important factor of personality development. Explained about the

personality development in details.

Kathuria, QMS Auditor & Former AGM, SAIL- Bokaro Session - I Time: 10:30 AM – 01:00 PM Topic: Motivation IS A great driving force which creates a will in the mind of the people to work..it is a complex phenomenon when we talk about self motivation ,it is only possible if you love yourself. Further he explain different motivational theory with primary secondary needs then he explained different motivational theory with primary and secondary goals. Lunch Break – 01:00 PM – 02:00 PM AFTERNOON SESSION Session – III Time: 02:00 PM – 05:00 PM Topic: Group Dynamics In the influential persons are required. In a team there is a synergy where total individual performance is combined performance of a group. order to make the Group attractive . Four important theories of Group Formation People form a group by combining activities and attitude in nature. Group level conflict. He explained organizational behavior on group development. He said efficiency is the utilization of resources and effectiveness show results.

Day – 2nd January, 2018 MORNING SESSION Name of the Resource Person: Prof. P.N. Kathuria, QMS Auditor & Former AGM, SAIL- Bokaro Session - I Time: 10:30 AM – 01:00 PM Topic: Intellectual Property Rights (IPR).

Discussed the concept of quality. Described total quality management, where he explained what is quality & importance thereof. He enumerated about the concepts of patent rights and copyright as well. He elaborated the Patents right concept with example such as Vicks. Lunch Break – 01:00 PM – 02:00 PM AFTERNOON SESSION Session – III Time: 02:00 PM – 03:00 PM Topic: Problem Solving & Decision Making Described the meaning of problems and as per him a problem is deviation from some standard level of performance to which a person is committed to find a solution. He said decision is a course of action conciuously chosen from a set of alternatives to achieve desired results. And it is a goal oriented process, which is based on experience, experimental models. Different styles of problem solving were also discussed.

8th Day – 3rd January, 2018

MORNING SESSION Name of the Resource Person: Mr. Praveen Rajpal, Country Manager, Tadiran Telcom (TTL) LP Session - I Time: 10:30 AM – 01:00 PM Topic: Leadership Qualities Explained the meaning & concept of the leadership and discussed various theories thereof. Discussed different qualities of the leadership. Different situations are responsible to make leader..Leadership is organizing a group of people to achieve a common goal. He explained that Trust, Empathy, Mentorship are three major traits of leadership. A Great leader’s courage to fulfill his vision comes from Passion, not position. Self discipline is the most important thing which is required in a leader. Lunch Break – 01:00 PM – 02:00 PM

AFTERNOON SESSION Session – III Time: 02:00 PM – 03:00 PM Topic: HR Strategies for New Entrepreneurs He said Human Resource Management is the systematic approach which is required for the new entrepreneurs. He explained that New Startups too need policies and procedures to run as a smooth well oiled organization. He said the hiring and staffing practices should be good for the new entrepreneurs. He told that the employees should be clearly asked for their expectations and they should be motivated by some incentives and managers accountable for providing feedback to them. Benchmark is an idea which gives an individual about his goals and creates the plan and policies to reaching to that goal.

9th Day –4th January, 2018 MORNING SESSION Name of the Resource Person: Mr. Praveen Rajpal, Country Manager, TadiranTelcom (TTL) LP Session - I Time: 10:30 AM – 01:00 PM Topic: Marketing Strategies Explained the meaning & concept of Marketing Strategies. He also explained the objectives of the

business in terms maximum profit and maximization of the wealth. He also cited the examples of corporate sectors and how the work is done in a team. Lunch Break – 01:00 PM – 02:00 PM

AFTERNOON SESSION Name of the Resource Person: Mr. Praveen Rajpal, Country Manager, TadiranTelcom (TTL) LP Session – III Time: 02:00 PM – 05:00 PM Topic: Negotiation Skills He explained the negotiation process which are prevailing in the corporate sector these days. Mr. Praveen elaborated on the various factors how negotiation skill can be enhanced.

Day – 5th January, 2018 MORNING SESSION Name of the Resource Person: Prof. Shipra Aggarwal, Professor, Sr. Faculty, FM Session - I Time: 10:30 AM – 01:00 PM Topic: Entrepreneurship and Capital Market With the help of case studies on the like Hindustan Unilever, P&G etc. She explained entrepreneurship and use of capital market. Various case studies were discussed and solved by the participants. Lunch Break – 01:00 PM – 02:00 PM AFTERNOON SESSION Name of the Resource Person: Prof. Shipra Aggarwal, Professor, Session – III Time: 02:00 PM – 05:00 PM Topic: Entrepreneurship and Capital Market Procedures of making balance sheet, Profit & loss a/c and cash flow statement were explained. Also presented on the Cash flow forecasting concept to the participants. The speaker discussed various Case Studies with the participant faculties. She said cash flow forecasting is a key tool where cash is king.

Name of the Resource Person: Prof. Shipra Aggarwal, Professor, Sr. Faculty, FM Session - I Time: 10:30 AM – 11:30 PM Topic: Sources of funding for setting up New Enterprises Explained the Working capital management for successful entrepreneurs to make the lecture effective. Case study of Sardar Sarovar Narmada Nigam Ltd. were also discussed. Lunch Break – 01:00 PM – 02:00 PM AFTERNOON SESSION Name of the Resource Person: Prof. Shipra Aggarwal, Professor, Sr. Faculty, FM Session – III Time: 02:00 PM – 05:00 PM Topic: Working Capital Management for Successful Entrepreneurs How to value different bonds? Calculation of Interest rate on different bonds. She explained different portfolio, management techniques with criteria that should be monitored and taken care at the time of Investment by the entrepreneurs in different sectors. She explained the concept of working capital and how it should be estimated at the initial stage and how it should be managed keeping in mind the long term plans of the organization.

12th Day – 8th January, 2018 MORNING SESSION Time: 2:30 PM – 5:00 PM Activity: Valedictory Chief Guest : Prof. (Dr.) P.K. Gupta, Gen. Secy, NAFEN Time: 2:30 PM-5:00PM Topic: SWOT Presentation by participant faculties After felicitation of the Chief Guest Dr. P.K. Gupta, Gen. Secy, NAFEN, and Dr. R.K. Gupta, Chairman, TIAS, the faculty participants presented their SWOT presentation in front of the gathering. They were asked questions by Dr. P.K. Gupta, Secretary General, NAFEN and Dr. A.K. Srivastava, CE(Academics & Development). Dr. P.K. Gupta gave his observation on the presentations of the faculties which were supported by other dignitaries present on the occasion.

Time: 4:00 PM – 05:00 PM Chief Guest Prof. (Dr.) P.K. Gupta, Gen. Secy. NAFEN, Dr. Ram Kailash Gupta, Chairman , Tecnia Group, Dr. Ajay Kumar, Director, TIAS had given away the Certificate of Participation to all the faculty participants. Dr. P.K. Gupta and Dr. Sudhir Dawra expressed his satisfaction on the successful completion of the FDP Programme.

Learning Outcome:

1. Demonstrate the ability to provide a self analysis in the context of an Entrepreneurship. 2. FDP provided inputs on processes and practices of entrepreneurship development,

communication and inter-personal skills, creativity and problem solving, time management, achievement motivation training, inputs on resource and knowledge industries, stress management and yoga.

3. This Programme created conducive environment towards inculcating Entrepreneurial values in students.

4. Faculty found this programme very useful for their development towards understanding Entrepreneurship.

5. Faculty Members found themselves in position to motivate students towards Entrepreneurship.
