The Body in DeliveryAural Channel: vocalizations that
accompany spoken words. How it’s said not what is said.
Visual Channel: speaker’s action and appearance.
Audience receives what is said 7% by words, 38% voice, 55% facial expressions and body movement.
Nonverbal Language:
Facial Expressions: shows feelings; reinforces verbal message
Eye Contact: indicates honesty and sincerity
Gestures: adds meaning when describing something

Impromptu Speech
Deliver an Impromptu speech on the given topic.
Speech must be no less than 2 minutes in length.
Be sure to give your into, body and conclusion with transitions statements.
You will not be allowed to use your paper.
Impromptu Speeches An impromptu speech is a formal speech delivered with a minimum of preparation. Impromptu speeches help speakers learn to rapidly organize and practice overcoming speech anxiety. Concentrate on delivering your speech smoothly and confidently. Process:
1. You will draw 1 topic 2. Quickly organize a response. You have 10 minutes to organize your speech. 3. Give your speech. Time limit: 2-3 minutes.
Criteria:
1. You must have an introduction, body, and conclusion. 2. Your body must contain at least 2, but no more than 3, different points. 3. Your ideas must be developed. 4. You must remain on topic. 5. You must have an appropriate conclusion. 6. The following rubric will be used to assess your impromptu speech:
