SOBRE COR/ ON COLOUR

On Colour new installation by Angela Detanico and Rafael Lain, combines five typographies developed by the artists and texts, concepts and theories about color by five different authors.

In the 60 screen prints, concepts and theories about color taken from Ludwig Wittgenstein [Remarks on Colour], Goethe [Theory of Colour], Maxwell [Experiments on Colour, the Per-ceived by the eye], Isaac Newton [ Optiks] and Aristotle [De Sensu et sensibilia], are combined with Helvética Concen-trated, Polígona Equilátera, Roseta, Retícula and Linear.

The different lines are expressed in primary colors, cyan, magenta and yellow, and come in different shapes accord-ing to the typography used, either through the succession of polygons with increasing number of sides equivalent to the alphabetical order of the triangle A icosioctágono equilateral Z in Polígona Equilátera; on the alphabet formed by growing radial lines starting from the center of each letter in Roseta, in a plot scale of intensity, with gradual values from A to Z in Retícula; on parallel lines equal to their position in alpha-betical order Linear, or on the different disk sizes determined by different shape of the letters in Helvetica Concentrated.

The voices of Wittgenstein, Goethe, Maxwell, Newton and Ar-istotle combined with Detanico Lain typographies present 60 dialogues on color.

RELEASE

Angela Detanico e Rafael Lain apresentam em Sobre Cor uma nova instalação criada a partir da combinação de cinco tipo-grafias desenvolvidas pelos artistas e textos de cinco autores que abordam questões ligadas a cor.

Nas 60 serigrafias que integram a instalação, conceitos e teorias sobre a cor, retirados dos escritos de Wittgenstein [Remarks on Colour] , Goethe [Theory of Colour], Maxwell [Experiments on Colour, as perceived by the eye), Isaac New-ton [Opticks], e Aristoteles [De Sensu et Sensibili], aparecem combinados com as tipografias, Helvetica Concentrated, Políg-ona Equilátera, Roseta, Retícula e Linear. As diferentes falas exprimem-se em cores primárias, ciano, magenta e amarelo, e surgem de diferentes formas de acordo com a tipografia empregada, seja através da sucessão de polígonos com número crescente de lados equivalente à or-dem alfabética, do triângulo A ao icosioctágono Z em Polígona Equilátera; no alfabeto radial formado pelo número crescente de linhas que partem do centro de cada letra em Roseta; numa trama de pontos em escala de intensidade, com valores graduais de A à Z em Retícula; em linhas paralelas igual à sua posição na ordem alfabética em Linear; ou nas formas das letras simplificadas em discos de diferentes tamanhos de Hel-vetica Concentrated. As vozes de Wittgenstein, Goethe, Maxwell, Newton e Aristo-teles combinadas as fontes de Detanico Lain criam 60 diálogos sobre cor.
