VersaCalc/VersaLogger Software

Version 4.0

!eneral "nformation

The VersaCalc system software may come with one or possi#ly two softwareapplications depending on the applications that you have o#tained

VersaLogger  software is re$uired for operation of the Versa%ogger dataac$uisition system for collecting time temperature test data& storing that data in ate't file& and also for printing that data

VersaCalc software is utili(ed for analy(ing and evaluating the data and forproviding various thermal process determinations and calculations

"f you already have the software installed and have received a Software )pdatethe installation of these files is simple The files are usually a Versa%oggere'eandor a loggerini file& or a VersaCalce'e file andor a evaluateini file Copythe update files into the appropriate e'isting +older

,ormal "nstallations

The installation procedures for Version -. applications are $uite different thanthat for earlier versions& so read and follow /%% the instructions

"f you are operating outside of the )nited States it will #e preferred to set theproperties of your 0indows system so the installed language is English )S&however& system may function in other languages providing you make otherad1ustments such as setting the 2ecimal Sym#ol to a period 34 and ,5T as acomma 3&4 in the properties of the 6egional Settings 3in the Control Panel4

Installation of VersaCalc Software

Procedures for installation of Version -. are different than those for mostcommercial 0indows 7p& 0indows 898: and 0indows ,T and 0indows ;...

software installations There are no setup e'ecuta#le files to run

Installation for ll !indows Operating S"ste#s

Start 0indows& do not have any other 0indows applications running& includingvirus scanning software

Create a $older  for containing all of the application and support 3#ut not data4files for the VersaCalc Version - package <ou may use any folder name that is

uni$ue and does not contain any other software applications or files

Copy all of the files from the C2& )S= mini>drive or downloaded emailattachment into this new +older )n(ip any of the (ipped files "t is advisa#le tokeep this +older for only these files and utili(e other folders to store all data filesdeveloped during any Versa%ogger heat penetration testing ?eep #ackupcopies of all files

%esting %&e Installation

5nce the VersaCalc software is operational you should run a couple of tests to

verify the completeness of the installation

,avigate in 0indows to the +older containing the files 2ou#le click onAVersaCalc-e'eB the Main Menu should appear

; "n the Main Menu click on A/#outB you should see a single screenreferring to the Version& etc

Icons

/ssuming you are reasona#ly proficient in 0indows programming& you can setup short cuts andor programs with "cons& etc "f you have the VersaCalcsoftware you may possi#ly com#ine it with the Versa%ogger software in singlemodule Dowever& it is recommended that no other 0indows applicationsshould #e running during Versa%ogger heat penetrationdistri#ution testing datacollection& although multiple applications may run when using 0indows ;...and 0indows 7p operating systems

Column K > Come )p Time > the time& in minutes& from the start untilsterili(er is approaching the constant processing temperature

Column - > 6etort temperature > the temperature used for semilog plottingof the heat penetration data or determining come up time to processingtemperature

Column 9 > the ,um#er of pro#es of temperature data in the file

Each of the remaining rows of the file must contain one scan of data thefirst column containing the elapsed time 3in minutes after steam on4 and theremaining columns& one for each pro#e& containing the pro#e temperaturesfor that scan The time value in the first row of temperature data must #e(ero 3.4 and the times for the following scans must #e the elapsed timevalues relative to time (ero 3see +igure /;4
