Please tell us any comments you may have on the website here:

Stunning site.

The What's On calendar was hanging when I requested a monthly overview of current events. What's On calendar does not allow you to specify 'adults' as an audience, the way the calendarat MoL does.

The website helped me a lot with my work. thanks.

Found the link to the National Art Library without any problem.

Fairly easy to navigate, visually interesting, .

We visited last November and plan on re-visiting in August. we missed anm area that was blocked off and would like to see it this time.

It is generally a very clear and accessible website with answers to all the questions I am looking for. The layout is also very stylish without being overly dominant.

Generally good; can be difficult to search the online cat.

Clear and informative, very helpful.

Cannot find any telephone number to ring as I would like to ask a couple of questions, .

So so helpful!

I feel it lacks a focus on what the museum is about, feels a bit bitty, lots of information but all over the page.

Too many information at one time.

Couldnt find whhat I was looking for.

It is certainly improved since I last used it.

I love visiting the website there is always something new to discover that's what keeps me coming back.I love sending e-cards and recommend the site to all my friends.

It is always a joy to use the V&A website due to its visual beauty.

This is a fantastic website. Despite its impressive scale and scope it remains very user-friendly and what you're looking for can usually be found within just a few clicks.

Fun to use, well written. More information would be welcomed.

Search functions seem to work on some pages but not others, depending on where one is on the site.

Victoria & Albert / Standard Report (with Text Questions) (Jan 2008) Copyright (c) 2007 eDigitalResearch.com, Strictly Private & Confidential Page 8

Would like e cards to be easier to find.

It'd be nice to see staff pages showing the research expertise of the staff who work at the V& A (e.g. Chris Breward, Carolyn Sargentson et al), in a similar manner to that found on universitywebsites. PS - I work for the AHRC, hence the interest.

I always enjoy spending time on your site. Thank you for sharing your treasures electronically! My visit today is because I will be working on the embroidery project at Plimoth Plantation thisweekend, and I wanted to see the original item again on which the project is based.

I found your website excellent and very well done.

Itsn a wonderful use of the latest technology, and very helpful to me an antique lover.

Excellent collection of images (especially for those of us who can't visit due to not being in the same continent!).

Fantastic as the museum.

I think it is quite complicated to navigate one's way around.

Excellent and informative. I do not care for the colour scheme of the home page though.

Very helpful.

I wanted to know the name of the artist who had made a piece I had seen on a visit to the Museum. I found the item very easily and there was actually more information than I needed.

Well set out and very useful.

Specific request regarding colonial East African furniture circa 1900-1950.

Easy to negotiate.

Quite easy to navigate, well designed and beautiful.

It was quick and efficient. I wanted to look again at the work of Lu Shengzong and the images from behind the scenes added a lot of information about process.

Navigating around the site was very slow!

Good information, fun.

I think it's excellent, particularly the archive - but a few technical suggestions. The top bar (home > shop online) overlaps the next row down, and I would like a print instruction on the 'what'son' page. I emailed myself but I just received a web page link.

Is a museum director and manager of one of Belgium's Historic Houses, I can only envy you for this very creative and innovative website!

Nothing special but it's attractive to the eye and easy to use. I downloaded the Golden Age of Couture podcast which is excellent.

Victoria & Albert / Standard Report (with Text Questions) (Jan 2008) Copyright (c) 2007 eDigitalResearch.com, Strictly Private & Confidential Page 9

Beautiful textiles/embroidery.

I love the website. It is a model of clarity. I always find what I am looking for and fast.

Very easy to use. Easy to find what you are looking for. Visually very interesting.

I think that it easy to find your way around.

On line visits cannot compare to actual visits to the V&A but I would like to see more details, particularly of sculptures, about the maker, the original, dates, materials, etc. It is a great generalappetiser but on line references are difficult.

I feel it would be better if the top menu banner remains static and remains the same colour throughout the website.

The home page is not clear enough; Too many tips on the same page. And most of all, the first thing i was looking for to plan my visit was the price. It is very hard to find it. Yes it's freeentrance but it's quite hard to find the information. Please make it clearer! othrwise it's a good website where we can see and discover many things. great!

The site easy to find information on and important attractions and events are clearly highlighted.

I have the impression that the site design was better in the past...

The information was easy to access and the illustrations excellent.

Easy to navigate around.

I know how to use it so its easy to find what I am looking for. Its clear.

Thumbnails of items very small & colours not as good as some sights.

Your website is getting better and better! Thanks a lot and best wishes!

I like it, & I can't always say that! Everything's clearly & simply laid out, with easy-to-navigate links to popular & not-so-popular sections...

Excellent Website Search the collections is so usefull because on the quality of the images. Most Museum website have poor quality pictures. And of course the number of images. This iswhat will make the museums site a first stop for students.

Why is it impossible to access your site. I am interested in historical clothing and find it impossible to view any of the many costumes in the V and A.

Its not that good.

Could not find the book I was looking for- presume out of stock . Golden age of couture. Would be good to say 'out of stock' if that is the case. Otherwise seems good.

I got along well, so I believe your webside to be done very well and easy to approach the artist one is looking for . I was spescelly trying to find out where I would find Turner, when comingagain to london.I did, so I am satisfied. Thank you.

Victoria & Albert / Standard Report (with Text Questions) (Jan 2008) Copyright (c) 2007 eDigitalResearch.com, Strictly Private & Confidential Page 10

Easy to use.

I find it easy to navigate and informative. I like it when the exhibition information opens in a new window.

It's disappointing to find out of date material eg; in Jan the community activities only listed Dec materialo.

The high-resolution images of the collection are a superb idea!

It is nice and simple.

Great resource.

The front page is very complex. It is not always easy to find information about the museum itself.

Find it really easy to use. It's simple, intuative, but at the same time really attractive. I love the fact that you can now search the collection on line. The mini sites for the temporaryexhibitions are really interesting and are a good add on to what's on show.

It's quite an interesting website, with almost the whole museum on line, but too much information (with a lot of writing, and few pictures on the first page) maybe almost kill the information, ornot?

At nearly 88 years of age I get a lot of pleasure of using the website. A trip to the V&A takes me a total of 6 hours, a viewing of the website 1hour. Please arrange, through the website, guided virtual tours. Interactive tours would be ideal!

It's pretty busy and overwhelming.

I could not find information concerning Antoine Leperlier and his work, although a PDF file states that his work was in one of your first major glass exhibitions.

It is a very easy site to use.

Not designed well. A little boring for such a great museum.

I could not get to the 1950's Couture Exhibit, even tho I typed in www.vam.ac.uk/couture.

I was looking for door styles but the museum ignored this word and offered me 150 very beautiful pictures of ceramics, textiles glass etc, which I enjoyed looking at but were not my primaryinterest this visit.

Lovely design. I really like the mix of print, video and audio information. I watched the video on Art Nouveau glass and appreciated the expert description and discussion.

I especially love the downloadable patterns and the "search the collections" features.

I live in Ottawa, Canada, and have visited your museum and loved it. I always enjoy my virtual visit - learn what exhibits and books are current.

Great.

Victoria & Albert / Standard Report (with Text Questions) (Jan 2008) Copyright (c) 2007 eDigitalResearch.com, Strictly Private & Confidential Page 11

I love it!

Easy to find stuff for families.

Very comprehensive and colourful.

Excellent and comprehensive content easy to use Video of techniques are very informative and concise I do prefer the previous Home page. This one is more like the BBC website. Theprevious conveyed the excitement of entering the Museum.

It is very good so far.

It's good.

Full use is not made of the web Art History courses very hard to find 150th anniversary info was impossible (so only VA staff went, I hear, which is really outrageous) Ditto Friday Lates - -mostly for staff/ staffs friends Info couldve been available via the web for specific lectures on the Friday Lates but wasn't - - Huge waste of the web and the museum.

Very useful, attractive, easy to navigate, good information.

I searched an accession number, T.1359-1900, obtained from a reliable source, in order to look at an embroidered jacket. I was unable to see the jacket as the number was, supposedly, wrong. I am disappointed, because I know my source is so reliable.

Na.

Not well organized.

Its nice, may be to much info.

Excellent, easy to navigate and full of information. Thank you.

It's VERY slow. National Art Library should be accessible from V & A homepage. Access to the catalogue is hard to find. Is this because it is the "library of last resort?".

Very good ... in an ideal world there would be huge pictures of everything.

Good day, having studied art since the age of 7 (53 years ago), I naturally knew of your fine museum, but because of being disabled by severe depression for the last 7 years, (nowrecovering), it had escaped my memory, so I was delighted to find you again today. You have a wonderful site. Best regards, Michael Johnson.

Couldn't find it.

I found the information I needed within seconds so I am very satisfied with the its ease of use of clarity.

The site is very useful especially for follow up research after visiting.

Missed the online shop, difficul to find.

Victoria & Albert / Standard Report (with Text Questions) (Jan 2008) Copyright (c) 2007 eDigitalResearch.com, Strictly Private & Confidential Page 12

Very lively and rich!

I am lookin for an altarpiece painted by Marcel de Sax or MarÇal de Sax, called The Puig Battle, in Valencia Spain, with a saint George figthing. I thougt that masterpiece was in thecollections of the Albert and Victoria Museum, but I did not found it.

It is a beautiful website. The V & A is my favourite museum, but I have not been there for a while. I saw the fabulous Faberge collection some years ago. Regards, Jenny Cangley, Dublin.

The website seems very clearly structured, all the links work.

Clear, fun and really liked the tool where you can put in your visit day and see whats on.

Easy to navigate, clear and exciting to view.

I visited the out of the ordinary exhibit pages which were very diffuclt to navigate. I wanted to see images of the exhibits but had to click multiple buttons to get the images and get back to themain page. Also - the main site created a new window which wasn't necessary.

The website was easy to use but I was searching for a specific item in the shop and could not find it. The product code was 36845 and description "V&A OMAR PACKABLE BAG".

It seems like a haphazard collection of websites, rather than one coherent whole – the links don't make sense, and some sections (especially for the National Art Library and the PrintsDepartment) feel like a different website altogether!

Terribly messy opening page - does not look well designed at all....too much info on the home page possibly...?

Website is user friendly.. That says it all!

I could not find a list of events for Friday January 25th when I planned to attend.

It is hard to find an image using the same number in the Image search and the collection search. It seems like different items will show up or the number will not call up the same item in bothsearches.

Love it.

It would be nice to have more pictures of exhibits.

Great museum, visitor friendly.

I wish there was a poster of the Sampler of Elizabeth Parker so I could really read the complete piece.

It looks nice and well made. The site seems easy to use but the front page maybe could be tidied up to not have lots and lots of links but other than that seems good.

Honestly, does not seem to show off the museum's collections very well.

If I cannot visit London, at least I can visit the beautiful V&A on this site.

Victoria & Albert / Standard Report (with Text Questions) (Jan 2008) Copyright (c) 2007 eDigitalResearch.com, Strictly Private & Confidential Page 13

Very imformative and eye catching.

I am confused whether permission is available free of charge for academic use, or not. In particular we need to clear use for both print and onilne versions of the same journal article. Whenwill your new permissions policy be available on the site?

Comprehensive and easy to use.

As a fan of Mackintosh, I was fascinated to follow your link to his www. You would do well to emulate the Derngate site, which gives a virtual tour; such an idea would be interesting for yourwww.

Easy to use and generally very speedy uploads.

Quite a confusing front page - lots of info to scour through.

Landing page is confusing: I cannot easily find what I want.

I didn't like the page on the new craft exhibiton because the animations take a while to load and there is no point to them.

I like the site. it does what I want it to.

It would be good to have a sectionn on the history of the V&A, or if there is one to make it easier to find :).

Since you ask (I wouldn't have bothered otherwise) this is one of the most boring websites I have seen. So much typing and so little visual information, what about a touch of "decorative art?." Some images would be particularly good for the temporary exhibitions. If I hadn't been before, nothing on this website would make me want to visit.

I receive V&A newsletter online - am planning visit in next few days. I find the information sent to me is always interesting and tempting! But even if I can't travel to |London at least I can viewonline, buy associated items, and feel in touch with what's going on. A great resource - thank you!

Came by to look at the Couture Exhibit site. Just bought the book. Love the site and the exhibits.

Looking to see whats on.

Rather slow.

First Class!

I was hoping to find more elaborate information on the subject of the exibition "Mapping the imagination".

We visited the museum, although the visit was quite enjoyable, me and others found some of the exhibitions quite boring and there was nothing really interesting for teenagers from ages 13upwards, the website is quite boring and isn't really appealing I think there should be more pictures to see whats in the museum.

WAs hoping for a few more images of the Mapping the Imagination exhibit, as I live int he US and won't get to it, nor will the firends with 2 young children I was looking it up for, but you seemto have lots of stuff. have visited V&A in person in the past, would recommend.

Victoria & Albert / Standard Report (with Text Questions) (Jan 2008) Copyright (c) 2007 eDigitalResearch.com, Strictly Private & Confidential Page 14

At other times, I have used the website for nearly all of the listed activities.

Very easy to navigate and it is informative.

Well done! clear, easy to follow, fast download.

Beautiful. clear design. Especially enjoyed interactive site on Islamic history.

I have always loved your website! I work at a museum in los angeles and I hold it as a gold standard. keep up the good work.

Online collections access is a fantastic resource! (I live in the US, so I have no reason at the moment to look for information on visiting, sadly.).

There's a lot on it!

This is a very stimulating website. I've been researching the sculpture department and I was amazed with the comprehensive information I found.

Your site is greate! Congratulations. However it is difficult to find the exact picture what I am looking for. For instance GOOGLE states that V&A museum has a picture of FREDERICMILLET but when I am on your site and type this name within search frames I get O result. It looks strange. Anyway thanks a lot. Dr. Ales Zotov, University professor, St.Petersburg,Russia.

Very good and informative.

Great website!

Easy to navigate, nicely presented.

An excellent website!

I'm an italian researcher. I'm studing the comunication about didatics offer in the online museums . I find very interesting your website, because it's possible for people learn many things andschare opinion with other people too. Thanks.

I can't find a way to access the Theatre Collections website from the main index page or site map.

Much better than it used to be - faster and easier to navigate.

I really like the pictures of the dresses in the history of fashion bit but sometimes it is hard to use the pictures for projects as they are too small and the big enough ones are on quicktime butthe V&A website and book I brought has been really useful with the project I am doing! =].

Fairly clear and straightforward. Access info includes transport info (not true at the BM).

Sometimes I find it VERY difficult to find information on events/talk, especially when I know they are taking place!

Very complicated access to collections complicated website as a whole compared to other museums such as.

Victoria & Albert / Standard Report (with Text Questions) (Jan 2008) Copyright (c) 2007 eDigitalResearch.com, Strictly Private & Confidential Page 15

Could not get trrough to kleave a message with a specifric member of your staff.

I really like the rotating 3D images of the costume I have seen so far.

I really appreciate being able to look at items from the collection on line as I live in Scotland and cannot easily visit.

You have non apparent information on the artists i have to research (Saul Bass and A M Cassandre).

Attractive and bright but nothing which interested me for a visit in the short term.

Great - very useful - would be useful if I could buy prints to download too.

Good site -easy to navigate.

I could not see a link for jobs on the website went through a long series of searches and still didnt get jobs thats I know are advertised (I saw them on people bank) wanted a job spec. AWFUL!

Wanted to find out the admission price and it wasn't available on the site. Had to phone up.

This information was not easy to find.

It's a good start.

I couldn't find what I was looking for.

I find it a great site , easy to use and helpful.

Very easy to navigate.

I would some information about catalogues (introduction).

When you request to be sent job notifications, you don't actually get any!

It is probably the most comprehensive resource I have come across related to art and design.

It's OK.

It is very good I love the way you have set it out very stylish and chic.

Your website almost wrecked my homework but it is very cool.

I had some diffculty finding venue hire details. could this possibly be on the front page?

It is very helpful in terms of information regarding designers and artist and I use it as a reference when completing university projects.

Victoria & Albert / Standard Report (with Text Questions) (Jan 2008) Copyright (c) 2007 eDigitalResearch.com, Strictly Private & Confidential Page 16

I am unable to access online shopping. The website keeps crushing.

Good website, easy to get round and easy access information, wonderfull museum can't wait to visit again.

I was looking for something that I'd bought at the shop a few years ago...

It is one of the easiest to navigate and is jam packed with information.

I can't find the policy for scholarly use of images in publications...the search engine is no help...On the main page, headings are spread all over the place ad it's hard to find anything I find.

I have not found the history period I was looking for.

Always interesting.

Hoping to find any talks / lectures by Shaun Cole, but couldn't.

As I am a librarian I apprecaite access to the National Art Gallery library is possible from your front page. I also get email alerts from the shop - it is a great service. We exchange books withthe library and buy books from the V&A shop when nec and the service is always excellent. It is easy to search your website and online shop. We also check what is happening withexhibitions.

I was unable to attend a resent visit with the students on the same course as myself, this website is the next best thing, its wonderful!

The presentations of the garments in Apple Quicktime are squashed looking and badly pixilated when zoomed in on, need better resolution and more zoomable sections for detail. And Iknow you have more stuff to add to the digital collection.

Couldn't find modern slavery.

Too cluttered.. need to utilize more of the collection on the home page.. use cross-selling techniques and recomendations to move people laterally through the site...

I like the layout and it is easy to use.

Absouloutly amazing! i'm 11 years old and I love this website!

Works well and is very interesting. Would like search facility to allow more selection of specific terms.

I found Adult Learning Resources that I didn't realise were available - these I might use in future when I next visit the V & A.

Like it but don't like all the boxes, although not sure how you could arrange it otherwise, with so much information to convey. Easy to use and navigate around.

It is great and so much information, I have to go back many times.

Disappointing that you dojn't have any family events listed for february half-term.

I found it difficult to find the images I needed.

Nice.

Excellent informative website.

I found the website easy to navigate and was able to locate the information that I wanted very quickly.

I am looking at museum websites for examples of online learning resources aimed at kids.

Generally very good. more online items wiould be good - only 1 work by Caius Cibber. Also the picture library site, often the only one on the first google page, has no link across to the mainmuseum site.

Lot of information to take in at one glance - looks busier than it usually does.

Nothing! I hoped to find some nice pictures of studio pottery (I think I may have found some previously but it may have been on another site) and I either pressed the wrong buttons or itdoesnt exist. And the galleries appear to be shut, so a visit is not possible. VERY DISAPPOINTING.

I saw in a book about a watercolor illustration on a lady working on her embroidery with bound feet and the credit line said Victoria and Albert Museum.

Thoroughly enjoyed "Out of the Ordinary" on our visit to London.

It was not easy to find the former Theatre museum collection. I did eventually find the on-line collection.

Well set out.

The new layout is much better. It is easier to find information for a given time period.

Did not find drawings I was looking for.

Very intersting. I will continue to explore the site.

Usually provides the detail of information I need and quality Thank you.

Great web-site. I like the info about current exibition. Very professional.

There is almost too much information! It's sometimes not easy to tell which are current exhibitions and which are past.

Chinese version webpage not up today.

Easy to use and a wide range of resources available.

I feel the website gives me the information I require. It is interesting, enjoyable and well designed.

I was looking for information about early Mongolian army uniforms etc but I don;t really fins what I was looking for.

Victoria & Albert / Standard Report (with Text Questions) (Jan 2008) Copyright (c) 2007 eDigitalResearch.com, Strictly Private & Confidential Page 18

There is a wonderful variety of discoveries to make on this site.

You should hold more competitions for young persons. Entrirs can be posted rarther than emailed.

There was no indication of which exhibits would be suitable for children around the age of 5.

Lots of helpful info but sometimes hard to navigate. Also, collect 2007 turned up in my search rather than 2008, for which I wanted a ticket.

It is a very informative website for a museum. I just hope that it continues to have a lot of activities/ interests etc. Thats what make unique to all the others, it seperates it from the rest.

Please tell me how can I see the ceramics of islamic period.

It is a nice site.

I purchased a tiny booklet in the design shop that I was told was made by an artist named Cassy Asher. I have been trying to find out something more about this artist, but am unable to trackany info down, and was disappointed that the shop staff said they were unable to give me any info on her either, or refer me to any source thereof. Could you help me out here? Overall, mythree and a half hour visit was amazing - the British Collection, lunch in the old dining room, and shopping in the design shop. I cannot sing the praises of the British Collection highlyenough. I loved the layout, the informative videos, the depth of information that was non-textual - videos, objects to examine in drawers etc. Amazing!

Very nice and incredibly informative! I found more than I expected on the site.

Very well designed; easy to navigate; informative and interesting; pages load quickly.

I think this website is interesting and I think i gonna visit it again.

Would have liked more information about the type of exhibits at the museum.

Easy to use and with all the information necessary when planning a visit with a young child.

Found what I wanted easily and enjoyed some serendipity too!

Very much improved.easy to use.

Very slow to access and download pages (not our computer - we have fast download) some pages "not available" etc.

Very difficult to find the exhibition Collect I was looking for.

Nice design!

Hi, my membership no. is 82164 and my name is dian panev, today i've tried to check what's on... and the page was not working. I havent recieved your magazine(program) yet, and I amwandering how to figure out when and why visit your museum. it is obvious that I am not a telepath. please contact me.

Tried to use the events calendar for a specific date in feb, but the site was down.

Victoria & Albert / Standard Report (with Text Questions) (Jan 2008) Copyright (c) 2007 eDigitalResearch.com, Strictly Private & Confidential Page 19

Easy to use.

I think it would be good if there was more in-depth analysis on featured works so you could read about them before visiting.

Haven't had a good look around it yet but used to visit a lot when I lived there always interested in what exhibitions you have running I have a lot of textiles and glass.

I think the website is poor - it dopesn't navigate very well and I can never find the sort of information I want - eg what japanese ceramics are on display, or what costumes - I just go round andround the houses!

Hard to navigate, each link means many layers, direct links would be bet5ter. E.g. link to the craft council to buy tickets for the Collect exhibition takes y9ou to the front page of the brochurerather than the page on ticketing.

It is not very clear.

It's informative, well thought, colourful, and just good to use.

Interesting and easy to navigate.

Very interesting - loved the 'design a textile'!

When searching for "carved 16th century tables", hoped to have seiries of picture to identify the one I am looking for.It was in English firniture dept, but I think it was by French designer.

Very good now for forward information on your programme. For me its useful to know what is planned at least 12 months ahead.

Very disappointed that there was no mention of the article in question.

Useful - thanks.

I like the display for th craft exhibition, with the images which enlarge when your mouse hovers over the image. I haven't examined it exhaustively, but it seemed to have most of the relevantinformation on the main pages. I didn't have any problems.

Your server does not respond to any request to view the Collections that I have tried - the message reads that it is too slow.

I came for the answer to a specific question and found very little, but enough to keep me going.

I'm interested in (and collect) Paris and Sevres porcelain. On your site I want to access photos and descriptions of specific items in the museum's collection. I can't figure out how to do that, and that's very disappointing.

I was unable to find any pictures of musical instruments other than the note about Queen Elizabeth's Virginals.

What's On was not available - Grrrrr.

Above all I would love to know the location within the museum of the objects I can search. It is very frustrating not being able to find objects one has read about.

Victoria & Albert / Standard Report (with Text Questions) (Jan 2008) Copyright (c) 2007 eDigitalResearch.com, Strictly Private & Confidential Page 20

There was one painting of Thomas More (an ancestor) that I've never seen before, that was of great interest. I enjoyed the link for 'points of interest' of the painting. Overall, I would say thewebsite is very well put together and accomodating to those who have little skill navigating on computers. Thank you for developing this educational site.

A number of the pages were hard to navigate. The article/photographs/ patterns would cut off in the middle and it was not possible to scroll down to see the rest.

I was looking for photos of the casts of the Templar Knights from the Temple Church which are in your collection. I had no success.

Very attractive, bright, informative and easy to use. Thank you.

Program for a specific date not working.

I find the website very difficult to use and the ability to research online extremely limited.

Well laid out; easy to access.

Love it....

I would like to see the dimensions of objects listed more regularly, but overall a very useful site for those of us across the ocean!

Still learning my way around seemed quite eay to follow.

Excelleent once one understands the structure.

I really enjoy visiting the V&A website. It is an extremely rich resource, even for someone like myself who lives on the other side of the world and has never visited the V&A itself. I reallyappreciate the depth and intelligence of the information provided, and look forward to one day visiting the physical V&A.

I found so much more than I was looking for, all so well presented, it drew me in!

Well laid out but booking tickets to Collect did not work.

Excelent, informative, educational, well set out and easy to follow links.

Good - easy to use.

I find it very easy to navigate; moreover, it's increidbly engaging and incites continued interest.

The website is very informative and easy to use, but you could use a better visual on the home page. Also, for Americans, at any rate, it would be helpful to be clearer about admission fees.

Very good.

Lots of interesting and informative information!

I am from Germany an I visit your site often. Maybe you could get an German translate. Thanks.

Victoria & Albert / Standard Report (with Text Questions) (Jan 2008) Copyright (c) 2007 eDigitalResearch.com, Strictly Private & Confidential Page 21

Good online shop. I looked for it because I noticed how good the museum shop was on my last visit to the (real) V&A.

Great! A bit slow loading the current contemporary embroidery exhibition pages though. If you are outside the UK I would like to be able to view detailed exhibitions. In Australia I'm not likelyto be able to hop on a plance to come over and see the exhibitions! Could be done with IP addresses.

I usually check the website on what I just mentioned, I think that mostly of times I did it I could get a good overview picture of what was going on.

I am a retired Museum professional and I think your website is a fantastic resource, which from a curator's point of view, will save hours of public contact, while enabling detailed study by theweb visitor. One tiny criticism; I alwys know the record number of the lace I am researching, and can never get to the image that way, even though you have a 'museum number' field in thesearch form. Is there a reason for that?

I was looking for the February Lecture Programe on Thursdays and Sundays. After a long time seaching on the web I found a calendar were you can get day by day information about allsorts of activities in cluding tours and pay lectures, useless to me, since all I wanted is to find the lecture programme for ordinary members of the public (as they have at the National Gallery)since the V&A has no monthy printed information available, which is really bad!

I love you for presenting so many nice, good-quality pictures of textiles!

Very easy to use and search.

Very nice and helpfull website.

Its well structured and easy to use.

Easy to navigate. Like style, font and graphics.

It's all in english and i'm french so sometime it's a little bit hard.

A good site for this exhibition on crafts.

Illustrations abit small.

Easy to use.

The website was easily followed and I found everything that I needed.

The site is intriguing. I'll visit again.

Hope this helps - I think I may have found a bug. I had registered for access to high resolution images but couldn't remember my password. When I asked the system to re-send mypassword it said "no matching account". I had definitely registered using the same email address as it wouldn't let me register again with this email address.

Very clear and easy to use.

Very good.

I was guided to your site by an article in the FT 13 Jan regarding sale of museum quality objects. I did not find what I was hunting but did not have the article with me to confirm dates etc.

Easy and pleasant to navigate.

The site has a fresh clean look that is very appealing. It is also easily navigable.

I was looking for information on internships and work experience but unfortunately there is no information on the website.

Very well designed. I love the museum and the website is a great online resource with good information on the collections etc.

It is the best museum website I have come across. The access you provide to such excellent photographs is unrivalled. But - your search engine can be a little idiosyncratic - for example, itseems uncertain about whether '19th century' means years starting with 18.. or 19..

Very informative andeasy to use.

Very clear and easy to use.

Pity I don't live in London!

It's looking very slick, love the interactive bits & the e-postcards. It's also nice that info relating to closed exhibitions is still available online.

It would be good if conference info was not so buried in the web.

I am doing a project for textiles on wall hangings and tapestries and found the website information very useful.

Very good site with lot's of usefull information.

I was quite impresses with the site; the information I was looking for (fashion and knitting) was very clearly laid out and was versatile.

Have been to the museum and it is fantastic. I haven't had a chance to go again recently and am dying to! Excellent website, very informative and interesting. Love the ineractive parts, videos etc. Very well done!

+Very easy to navigate and very responsive. Beautifully designed, visually, as one would expect!

Difficult to find opening times and entry prices for the temporary exhibition I was interested in. eventually found this info on crafts council web site.

Couldn't access anything I wanted.

Have not expolored fully. Most impressed by the Museum though!

Tried accessing your archived knitting patterns - please tell me they haven't been removed! A wonderful resource, especially with the resurgence in the popularity of knitting. Congrats on afabulous site, beautifully laid out, will make a point of visiting the museum when next I'm in the UK.

Some of the links in the list resulting from my search were unavailable.

Victoria & Albert / Standard Report (with Text Questions) (Jan 2008) Copyright (c) 2007 eDigitalResearch.com, Strictly Private & Confidential Page 23

Pleasantly surprised at how much information there was.

Kids love it.

Wonderful site - I am interested in craft and recycling. To me this is what craft is all about - using up the old, unused, no longer needed item and making it into something wonderful.

It's a really helpful website, It's sometimes takes me alittle longer to figure out what to do, but I'm always happy with the end results.

This survey popping up every time I load a page has made me leave the website and look somewhere else!

The V & A website measures up to that of other fine museums. A compliment, as I've discovered some museums sites frustrating and insufferable at times.

Very easy to navigate and informative.

A very helpful website, thank you.

Love it - invaluable. Only wish I lived in London!

I'm really impressed with the video clips (and X-rays!) of toys in the Museum of Childhood collection. I'm looking forward to my first visit in a couple of months.

Wonderful. Thank you very much.

Like the layout and colors. It doesnt make you feel tired, and it encourages to continue exploring!

A great and informative visit.

Good layout, user friendly, comprehensive, informative.

I find the site for the Museum of Childhood extremely useful. I am developing something along the same lines at the library where I work.

Thank you for keeping a Sikh history and art section in your museum. I feel it is well represented here and not distorted by the opinions of others who may have differing agendas.

Clear and fast loading, a nice site.

Excellent.

I used the search facility - keywords 'Fruit & Vegetables' - as I'm doing a study on the subject part of which involves looking at how fruit and/or vegetables are treated in paintings/sculpture. The results gave me, among other things, 2 tureens, a snuff box and a print. I didn't know how to go from there to find out where the pieces are which interest me and a bit more info aboutthem, possibly options to print or email details to myself prior to my visit.

In the What's On page for today (25/1/08), there's some generic text: "Some Friday Late events are ticketed, visit www.vam.ac.uk/fridaylate or call 020 7942 2820 for further details." Fairenough, but it would be better to say: "This Friday Late event is free and non-bookable. Some other Friday Late events are ticketed, visit www.vam.ac.uk/fridaylate or call 020 7942 2820 forfurther details." That way, all the information I need is available. As it is, tickets are referred to there, and then not even mentioned on http:/www.vam.ac.uk/

Victoria & Albert / Standard Report (with Text Questions) (Jan 2008) Copyright (c) 2007 eDigitalResearch.com, Strictly Private & Confidential Page 24

activ_events/events/friday_evenings/friday_late/ events/friday_late_jan08/index.html ... so for positive confirmation about tickets, I had to ring the help line.

Very good informative website.

Very Easy to search. Clear and concise information.

It is a really straight forward website keep it up.

Very informative.

Excellent!

You are perfect, oh gods of higher education.

It was easy to find the ticket page and the cuorse, but it was near impossible to find any info on the course. I had to call the switchboard and ask her to send me the link. There need to become distinction between - education courses, talks, etc etc. The link she did send em had 5 lines on the course. It was £40 - surely more inform is needed to sell it to people. Haveingspent 20 mins finding info on it I can honestly say the blurb didn't sell it to me.

I' m a teacher in France and I would like my students know the V&A.

I like it but need more modern and simple type cut outs.

Your website is very well-designed and easy to access. The only danger is that I may spend far longer on the site than I intended to!

Looks quite informative on first glance, the presentation is also pleasant. Good Job.

Quick, clear and well organized. It provides easy access to a lot of useful information and I like the bright layout.

I love rhis website as it comes in useful with my coursework.

Great online database! I'm a decorative arts museum professional and I rely on you for comparative material all the time. Thanks!

For a Museum dedicated to design, the home page is far too complicated and seems to presuppose some knowledge of the Museum. The search pages bring up an amazing array ofirrelevant objects - having keyed in 'dressing table' in simple search I got only 2-3 relevant items from 17. The same search later brought up a completely different number of objects. Wardrobe (i.e. furniture) brought up 74 objects, not one of which was remotely a piece of furniture but read 'wardrobe' in the fashion context.

Confusing, frustrating, can't GET anywhere...friend sent me a link to a photo, cannot access other photos in display, cannot backtrack URL, keep getting "Forbidden" message.

The search function is very, very basic. When I searched on 'cream silk gown 1790' I got no results. I had to search on 'silk gown' and view all such before I found the one I wanted.

I thought I would be able to see all or most that would be on sale in the shop.

I was signing up for the email newsletter. On the home page when you put in your email address, and then click to sign up for the newsletter, the next screen says 'error' at the top, and asksyou for more details. OK to ask for more details, but I'm not sure that 'error' is the best heading for this page. Didn't put me off, but then I work in computing. Others may be more

disconcerted. Other than that only looked at the home page, but it seems well laid out.

The webpages look as if they've been redesigned and have a new layout. This looks far more aesthetically attractive than when I last visited a few weeks ago. I like all the informationcompressed into one page - it's much easier to pick a subject rather than navigate via menu bar icons.

Easy to use and well illustrated.

There should be more photographs.

Would it be possible to state in which room an object is to be found? (or if it is in store and therefore not to bother!) I can understand that objects are often away from their showcase for verygood reasons but I would have thought it would make your lives easier if each item was trackable to a specific location.

Not very user-friendly as too much info so can be confusing the first few times one uses it.

I was surprised and glad to find it on your web site!

Looking for things related to king robert the bruce of scotland.

Very nice interactive website. Thank you.

Easy to navigate.

Well laid out, clear menus and useful information on upcoming events.

Much improved since my last visit to the site. Have spent much more time exploring than I planned.

At first look, the website offers access to a wealth of resources, valuable to me both as a student of English and as a friend of crafts.

Really good website. Easy to navigate. Sells the museum well (can't wait to visit now)!

I really like the webbsight, esay to understand etc but would like to have some more indepth information about certain exhibitins or objects...

I like it very much.

Tols me all I needed to know.

I found the items needed and was surprised to find that they were used during the war-the name was unfamiliar.

Some events were available to book but there was no description of some of the events.

Seems fine and functional for the information I want on exhibitions.

I just love the website and the comments on the objects shown here. I'm rather far to visit the museum.

Pretty good, like to see more of the building though.

I love being able to see collections even though I am currently unable to travel!

I didn't see a story about the history of the museum, when it was founded, etc.

I would like to see pictures of more of the historic clothing, with the construction details visible.

Very well presented!

It is very difficult to find the department pages.
