Religion : Hindhuism , christians Illiteracy rate : 93 Average Annual Income : 40,000 per person Average Annual Birth Rate : 15 Average Annual Death Rate : 5 as per health, 20 members due to cyclone

Infrastructures and facilities

Education : 1 primary school with 1 room upto 5th class with 2 teachers (in community hall)

Clinic : They are having only 1 room to under go surgeries for the pregnant ladies.(in community hall)

Water source : 2 bore wells, 5 taps . Religion Facility : There is no separate structure. They place their godess (vellamoru)

in huts itself. They are two huts of such kind. The two villages worship their goddess in these huts.

Drainage : This village consist of surface drainage system only Transportation : Autos, motorcycles. Community Hall : There is only 1 hall were they undergo prayers and marriages. In this building itself there is school and clinic and community office. Electricty : Each house is having one bulb or tube light

Existing Village Organization:

• The two villages consisting of a common village committee. • This village committee consisting of a surpanch/president. He is the Head of the two villages. • This village organization also consists of a vice –president (sorada yellama) and there are 8 members under this committee including elders and women.

LIVELY HOOD:

• Now, at present only old people are living in this village. • No one is going to the fishing (except middle age people) because there are no teenagers in the village. • All the teenagers have migrated to Visakhapatnam and Chennai for fishing and for some other jobs because there is no proper equipment for fishing in the village like boats and nets. • Very few members are going to fishing . they go at 3a.m and comes at 11a.m. • The old people get money from their sons and they live.

• Some of the ladies in the village work as a daily labour for 130rs/day in the neighborhood villages if there is work. • The present migrated people to vizag working in the fishing harbor. • The people who have migrated have their own boats and most of the people work under them. • Some of them grow animals like hens, goat and they sell them

Wealth Ranking :

Rich : 10 families (At present they are living in vizag but have their own houses in the village. Those people are considered as rich because they live in pucca houses and they are having several properties like boats and also some tools which are required for the fishing like ring rolla) Middle : 20 families (At present they are living in vizag but have their own houses in the village.These people are considered as middle because they live in tiled roof and thatched houses and they work under the rich people and some have their own boats) Poor : 150

Festivals : • There is afestival named “ Nookalamma” in the month of may where most of the migrated people of two villages come to their village and celebrates the festival. • From this village they go to simhachalem.There is one more famous festival named “Peddamarru”in the October. This is a 3 days festival. • The other festivals are Dona Sathemmathalli on the month of june and Poleramma on February

Construction details:

• Thatched house (per one house) :

Cost : 50000Rs 35000Rs (without flooring)

Materials used :

• They use Mango tree, Gumid tree and Palm tree to construct the house. • For 1 house it takes around 8 trees to construct. 1 tree costs around 300-400rs

• They buy the trees from the beside villages like Ramachandrapet,Manjeru etc for the construction of their thatched houses • The bamboo and cashew nut trees are used as rivits in the construction and tati nara for tiengs. • For every two years, the roof is replaced. It costs around 6000. • The walls are mud walls. For every 6 years they will plaster it again. • The massions’ to construct the houses comes from the near by village called “Ramachandrapeta”. • The mud used for the construction comes from the pond between these two village. • For the construction of one boat it costs around 15000. • For the construction of houses from Indiramma scheme, government has provided 35,000 for construction of each house. • Government has provided money for 513 houses. • The people who are having money has constructed pucca houses by adding their money.
