Again in 2012 we were housed in the Quality Inn & Suites at 705 Atlantic Avenue in Virginia Beach. We had all-day access to the Hospitality Suite for snacks, drinks, games, and socializing. The weather was perfect for golf, with temperatures ranging around 70 and 80 degrees. We were fortu-nate in completing our week of fun & golf before Hurricane Sandy had any significant effect. For the second year, the team of Gene & Barbara Horan and Sperry & Christa Storm coordinated the activities at the hotel and the golf courses. They provided a most enjoyable week of golf for our senior group of 67 golfers plus 13 “Adventurers.” We played on four different golf courses all within 10 miles of the Quality Inn. They were Heron Ridge, Hell’s Point, Signature at West Neck, and Honey Bee. This year, a high priority was placed on getting “senior” tees for the ladies. For this, we had some success; three of the four courses met our requirement to various degrees.

We are indebted to the scoring team of Chuck Voorhees, Rich Boardman, and Ken Wheatley. They did all the scorecard verifica-tions, blind draws, and tie-breaking procedures all week long. Generous snacks and entertainment were provided and golfing awards were presented each day in the Hospitality Room between golf and dinner-time.
