Virginia African American Forum Executive Committee Liz Montgomery, President Bruce Williams, Vice President Celesta Arrington, Treasurer Sue Diedzic, Secretary Gloria Jackson-Warren, Jamestown 2007 Liaison The Virginia African American Forum is a small grassroots organization formed in 2002 to plan statewide events that would involve African-American citizens, communities, churches, businesses, and organizations across the Commonwealth in America’s 400th Anniversary.The Forum’s commemoration legacy included two events that yielded $14,000 in gifts to the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation for the purchase of an African artifact and provided each of Virginia’s six Historically Black Colleges and Universities with $1,000 scholarships for students majoring in history or museum studies.The Forum is committed beyond 2007 to continuing to showcase through events and programs the significance of the African-American impact on modern American society. www.Americas400thAnniversary.com Co-sponsored by the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation and the Virginia African American Forum.
