The mental picture of the future YOU desire is more than just a goal; it is the embodiment of your hopes and dreams — the image of what has not yet happened, but what the future may hold. In business, having a clear vision is critical. It is a potent tool to achieve the results you want.

Having a vision means we have a clear sense of purpose. It means we have a much larger picture of our business or our life than

merely setting and reaching short term goals and tackling problems as they come along. Visions drive our passion and dreams, and they reflect real efforts to create tangible results.

We have got to give ourselves the freedom to dream – use our imagination to see and feel what does not yet exist. Goals and objectives come from the head; a vision comes from the heart. Let this year’s Local Enterprise Week be a time that allows you to use your creative power, to re-think the unthinkable and shake off the shackles. Donegal can be the platform that will enable you to conquer your industry. Local Enterprise Week can be the source that inspires you to do so.

This year, and like every year, we have a range of talks and events which will get your creative and business mind flowing. From machine automation, digital marketing expo, food marketing

A leader has the vision and conviction that a dream can be achieved. They inspire the power and energy to get it done.

and branding to leadership lessons from sport, there is a lot of knowledge to nurture your imagination and long term vision.

Without the support and cooperation from our partners, Local Enterprise Week would not be possible, and we would not have the comprehensive coverage that we are offering. It is another key example of how our beautiful county pulls together for the greater good. Furthermore, together with the local talent that we have involved this year, we have a great mix of national and international speakers sharing their expertise and experience with us.

We hope you get involved and make the most of this opportunity to drive your own business forward. We look forward to working with you in applying the learning from Local Enterprise Week to achieve your vision.

FINDING THE RIGHT INGREDIENTS - FOOD MARKETING

The objective is to bring together food businesses, from across different sectors, to consider how they can market their business to connect with the customers in a meaningful way — allowing them to gain the long term benefits of adopting a more strategic approach. The event will feature a talk from George Latella of St.Josephs University, Philadelphia. He will share his knowledge and experience of what works for food businesses — demonstrated through case studies that will be familiar to Donegal businesses and key lessons that can be drawn and applied to small business. Local and national food businesses will join George as they share their experiences and thoughts on what has worked for them.

He currently writes articles on Retail Food Marketing, Brand Strategy, Food Marketing Strategy, & Segmentation for Heady Times.

Local Enterprise Office will run a Food Marketing programme through St. Josephs University Philadelphia. It is a unique opportunity for Donegal food businesses to attend a tailored food marketing programme, complemented with in-market store and food business visits.
