Unknown Visit to Celje shelter for homeless people For the past 6 years, every time around Christmas we visit shelter for homeless people in Celje. The aim of the project is to raise awareness among students, teachers and other school employees about volunteering as an expression of active citizenship, importance of good practices, co-operation and innovation in the local community, diversity and equality for all. Every year, in November and December, we have a voluntary action, where we collect in school among students and employees voluntary contributions, which we then donate to the shelter home. This year we were very successful – we raised almost 550 €. This money is very precious to the shelter home, because it allows them to buy a few necessities for the residents of the home such as new washing machine, vacuum cleaner… We rounded our visit with a short cultural program. One of our students played on accordion. The residents of the shelter were thrilled about it and together with students they danced and laughed. This visit moved us deeply in our hearts. We are happy we had the possibility to add this experience to our hearts and minds. We are already looking forward to our next visit of shelter home next year. Visit to Celje shelter for homeless

people

For the past 6 years, every time around Christmas

we visit shelter for homeless people in Celje.

The aim of the project is to raise awareness among students, teachers and other school

employees about volunteering as an expression of active citizenship, importance of good

practices, co-operation and innovation in the local community, diversity and equality for

all.

Every year, in November and December, we have a voluntary action, where we collect in

school among students and employees voluntary contributions, which we then donate to

the shelter home. This year we were very successful – we raised almost 550 €. This

money is very precious to the shelter home, because it allows them to buy a few

necessities for the residents of the home such as new washing machine, vacuum

cleaner…

We rounded our visit with a short cultural program. One of our students played on

accordion. The residents of the shelter were thrilled about it and together with students

they danced and laughed.

This visit moved us deeply in our hearts. We are happy we had the possibility to add this

experience to our hearts and minds.

We are already looking forward to our next visit of shelter home next year.
