VistARad
VistARadVistARad is the diagnostic display component of VistA Imaging. VistARad is used for the interpretation of radiology studies and for workflow management.
VistARad provides:– The ability to adjust the display parameters of images based on
radiologists’ preferences.– A “ReadList” function that steps through a pre-selected worklist and
reduces effective exam load times.– Hanging protocols that automatically locate and load prior studies and
that organize and optimize the display of images for efficient interpretation.
– The ability to designate images of interest as key images, making consultations easier when working with large Computed Tomography (CT) and Magnetic Resonance (MR) studies.

Clinical Display and Capture
Clinical Display and CaptureVistA Imaging’s Clinical Display software is used to access the complete multimedia online patient record, including access to EKG tracings stored on a Marquette MUSE EKG Management system.
– Clinical Display also accesses textual information from VistA packages such as: Clinical Procedures (and Medicine), Surgery, Laboratory, Radiology and Text Integration Utility (TIU), supporting Progress Notes and Consults.
VistA Imaging’s Clinical Capture software is used to add new images to patients’ online records.
– Clinical Capture can be interfaced with devices such as digital cameras, document scanners, endoscopes, ultrasound scanners, video cameras (including those connected to microscopes or ophthalmoscopes) and x-ray film digitizers.
CPRS (Computerized Patient Record System) is typically installed on the same workstation as Clinical Display and/or Capture.
– When Clinical Display is launched from CPRS, patient context between the two applications is maintained automatically.

TeleReader
TeleReaderThe VistA Imaging TeleReader application is approved for Diabetic Retinopathy Surveillance and TeleDermatology although its design is completely general and it can handle any type of consult.
TeleReader can be used to facilitate reading of both local and remote (inter-facility) consults. – TeleReader works with the Consult Request Tracking package
(GMRC) to obtain a list of imaging studies that are ready to be diagnosed.
– A TeleReader user can select the desired study from the list, lock the study for reading, interpret the images, and then enter results into the online patient record.
Released in April 2007, TeleReader is in use at All VISNs, 200 retinal camera acquisition sites, and 61 reading sites.
