Movers: Capital Moving Inc. www.capitalmoving.ca Pick up Date: June 12, 2009 --Delivery Date: August 10, 2009 About this presentation: This presentation is a visual in support of the Statement of Claim filed separately via email on Wednesday, August 19, 2009. About this preliminary claim: Lot # JHO 463 There are so many boxes and items still missing (28) and so many broken items that this cannot be a final claim. However, the images that follow will help you understand our initial concern, disappointment and now our anger. We had hoped for a prompt and satisfactory resolution. However, it is now 60 days since the delivery and there is no sign of any attention being paid to our claim. Since we have a 2 year window within which to file a lawsuit in Small Court and since the suit limit will rise to $25,000, in 2010, we plan to file for the maximum in January.

General condition of the delivery was awful. Our goods were abused.

The smashed pier from my entertainmentcentre lies flat under all these boxes.

Yes, this is my white couch, which should have been completely covered, being dragged into my house after theprotective blanket was removed prematurely.

This box was marked fragile!

General condition of the delivery… (more)

The circled box started as a double high box protecting delicate decorations. Apparently, the handlers missed themany markings and tags and put lots of weight on the box, thus crushing the content.

Even a brand new ward robe was unable to withstand the abuse.

EXTREME VIOLENCE!

This was a wardrobe carrying clothes. Can you imaginethe amount of force necessary to twist this hard metal bar

to this degree? This is beyond negligence. It’s abuse.

It is as if they had a grudge against this shipment.

The way we packed our fragile stuff in cardboard mover’s boxes…

We are experienced packers and movers. We have done long distance moves 7 times and local ones almost 20times. We have never suffered such losses. We rarely break anything.

Types of containers we used, besides cardboard mover’s boxes…

These are the wheels that belong to my exercisebike. How did they end up in a plastic tub?

The Exercise Bike

These are the wheels that belong to my

exercise bike. How did they end up in a

plastic tub?

The guts of the computer have

been ripped out and an end-

cap on the handles is missing.

Front plate missing.

Damage Report… - Furniture

This torchiere lamp was wrapped in a blanket and then around another item as a restraint. Not only is the socket

broken but the neck is bent and the switch was removed. Did they use it as a javelin. Too bad it was part of a set.

This valuable chair is well over 100 years old.

This used to be a 3-piece Entertainment Centre. The Christmas image shows how the components function together. In the first image one can see that the right side pier (that’s what they call these pieces) is missing. It is in my garage, wrapped and awaiting an adjuster to witness the damage when he opens it. The bridge (the top part) is standing onend.

Here’s what happened. All 3 units were very well wrapped inblanket by the loaders. On Saturday, before the delivery, when thetruck was being loaded, the broken unit was laid down flat, in thetruck, like a coffin with its glass doors facing up. The loader thenproceeded to pile box upon box on top of it until it eventuallycollapsed under the weight. The question that arises is complex.Since the other 2 pieces were also well wrapped and placedvertically on the truck, why did the loader disregard these signals?Umm?

The unit on the right is the closest example of a potentialreplacement unit.

Where is my Yamaha Keyboard. I saw the

movers wrap it in a blanket. The stand and the

music holder made it. But, there is no sign of the

keyboard. It would be very nice if it was

recovered. Mine was a PSR 285. The closest

model now is the S550B below.

Missing keyboard standfoot found in a drawer.

Damage Report… - Heirlooms, China, etc.

Mysterious misadventure of my favourite statue!

This statue of St. Joseph with baby Jesus has been in my family for long time. It belonged to my grandfather Pasquale. Itgraced his living room when I was a kid. I remember it as far back as 1948. He passed it on to me and it has beengracing my room or my office since 1961.

Here is the puzzling adventure. I actually saw the driver carefully carry this statue wrapped in a blanket. I told him that Iwas glad to see that my friend had arrived safely. He placed it in a corner of my office, hidden from view, wrapped withfoam (Image 1) Unbeknownst to me, he knew that the statue was broken because we found pieces of the head of babyJesus ( image 2) on the driveway after the truck left. Image 3 shows the condition of this 26” statue. It can be repaired.I’m not so sure about the driver.

Damage Report… - Heirlooms, China, etc.

How do you break wrapped corning ware in a box? The broken items on this page are all solid. They were all wellwrapped and boxed. The corning ware was given to my wife by her students 45 years ago and travelled with us in allour moves without breakage. The ceramic Christmas tree has also been with us for 20 years.

Mercifully, this is most of thebroken stuff we’ve found. Wehave opened every box wereceived and hope to receive thebalance of our shipment as soonas it is found. There are 28boxes missing. This amount of stuff is difficult to hide.
