Mr. Suleman Chawla, Mr.Saleem Nagaria and Mr. M. Farhan Ashrafi have unanimously been elected unopposed as President, Senior Vice President and Vice President respectively of the SITE Association of Industry at the 55th Annual General Meeting held on 30th September 2019.

The newly elected office bearers have assumed their charge from 1st of October, 2019.

Newly elected President Mr.Suleman Chawla thanked the members for giving him opportunity to serve their Association and said that problems of the area increased with the passage of time and it is becoming very difficult for the industrialist to work in this area.

In his brief address, Mr.Chawla said that the matters-in-progress will be followed up vigorously to bring them to some conclusion which in particu-lar include environmental issues, gas

supply, completion of Manghopir road construction, water supply issues and the matter of Municipal Utilities Charges & Tax (MUCT).

He further said that my top priority is to take up infrastructure matters of SITE area on war footings while other priorities include increasing Member-ship base of the Association, close working with Labour department Sindh and approval of Fire Tender exclusively for SITE area.

Respectable Members of SITE Association of Industry,

It is indeed a great honour for me to be elected as new President of SITE Association of Industry. I bow my head before the Almighty Allah for all His blessings & bestowing on me this honour.

I would like to thank Mr. Siraj Kassam Teli, Mr. Zubair Motiwala, Mr. Majyd Aziz, Mr. Yunus Bashir, Mr. Tariq Yusuf and other senior members for showing confidence in my abilities and giving me a chance to follow their footprints.

I am also thankful to valued Members of SITE Association of Industry for showing confidence in me, I assure you that I would represent industrial community at all relevant forums to get the issues resolved.

I have served this Association as Senior Vice President for 2-years 2008-09 & 2016-17. At that time problems of SITE industrial area were very few but with the passage of time problems are increasing and working in this area are becoming very difficult for industrialists.

Before I proceed further I would like to congratu-late Mr. Saleem Parekh and his team for effective-ly taken up matters of industrialists at the relevant forums and resolving them in the larger interest of the SITE area.

My friends outgoing President Mr.Saleem Parekh has highlighted some matters which I understand, will continue during my tenure as well and I assure Members that these matters-in-prog-ress shall be followed up vigorously to bring them to some conclusion. Matters-in-prog-ress are:

1. Environmental compliance issues: I will be pleased to join hands with my seniors Mr.Zubair Motiwala, Mr.Jawed Bilwani and Mr.Saleem Parekh who are already there to take case of this very important matter.2. I would request our leaders to take special steps for export oriented industries for their social compliance issues such as SEPA, environment, effluent treatment and combined treatment compliance certificates.3. Recently rescinding of SRO1125 has also created many difficulties for the industrialists, due to which import of machinery is subjected to 3% additional Sales Tax, we have to work in this regard also.4. Gas supply and low pressure issues.5. Completion of Manghopir Road and expan-sion of Orangi Nala. 6. Water supply issues including recycled water project of HUBCO.

7. Decision on Municipal Utilities Charges & Tax through litigation. In pursuance to above matters, I understand that the urgent need is to take up infrastructure matters of SITE area on war footings and it will be on the top of my agenda, particularly carpeting & patchwork of roads; cleaning of nalas and removal of debris and garbage from streets.

For this purpose I seek guidance and cooperation from Mr. Siraj Kassam Teli and other Board members as single most talked about topic with regard to SITE is depleted condition of roads.

In addition, other priorities of my agenda would be:1. Increase membership by giving services to the members (in this regard I would give target to each Executive Committee member)2. Close working relations with Labor Depart-ment to ensure that Labor Inspectors do not harass industrialists and to reduce corruption.3. Maintain strong relationship with diplomats to highlight investment opportunities and to project Karachi as a safe city; and assist members thru visa recommendation.4. I also intend to pursue with Governor of Sindh for an early approval of Fire Tender dedicated to SITE area.

I would request all members to cooperate with us for the improvement of SITE’s infrastructure and

the agenda set for our working area. Taking into consideration the hardships common man are facing during to uncertainty and limited financial resources, I would request all our members to open Fair Price Shops to sell products at compa-ny rates in order to bring down the hardships of common man.

Now, I would also like to thanks Mr. Abdul Hadi and Mr. Naveed Wahid for successfully running operation of SITE Self Security System. I am aware that many members are not contributing of this system. But, let me tell you that this system has brought positive change in law & order of the area. I can share figures prior and after. I would urge the members to contribute to this system for their own interest and safety.

At this moment SSSS is being operated with the help of 65 Rangers and 75 Police personals. In coming months we would try to cover all internal roads of SITE area either by human intelligence or through CCTV in order to provide safe industrial activity environment. In this regard, I seek members’ cooperation and assistance.

In the end, I am thankful to my leaders and members for electing me as their representa-tive and I would request all of you to kindly pray for me that Almighty give me strength and wisdom to serve this Association.

PERFORMANCE REVIEW REPORT




It was indeed an honour for me to serve this august Association of Karachi for the 2nd time as President, previously I held this position in 2009-10. It is also a co-incidence that Mr. Ahsan Arshad Ayub was Senior Vice President during my both tenures.

It was a very hectic year as we had almost 2 to 3 meetings daily on issues related to SITE members (Total 136 meetings were held). I could have not performed without the support of Executive Committee. Taking opportu-nity of this gathering, I once again thank all my team members for their continu-ous support during my tenure.

Now, I would like to inform this gathering about important events of 2018-19:

1. TRADE LICENSE has almost been resolved as we have taken the matter to the court of law and have also received legal advice from the Law Department, Government of Sindh, which seconds our viewpoint. This matter was pending since 2004 (15 years).

2. ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES: 13 meet-ings were held on environmental issues which were attended by Mr.Zubair Motiwala, myself and Mr.Jawed Bilwani.

3. KWSB arranged a presentation on the progress of CETP on 18th Feb 2019 in its office which was highly informative. This was followed by a consultative session on 22nd March 2019. Then Sindh Environment Minis-ter Mr. Nawabzada Muhammad Taimur Talpur called a joint session of all stakeholders on 2nd April 2019 wherein progress of all environmental projects of Sindh was reviewed.

4. DG SEPA Mr. Naeem Mughal also visited us on 21st March 2019 in this connection and discussed Members compliance matters in detail.

Now the matter is being taken up from the platform of Planning & Development Department, Sindh. A review meeting was held under the head of Chairperson Planning & Development Board Mrs.Na-heed Durrani on 18th July 2019.

A Project Steering Committee has been formed to regularly monitor the progress on mega water & sewerage projects of KWSB under her chair. 1st Meeting of Project Steering Committee was held on 20th August 2019 and a Notification to this effect has also been issued on 26th August 2019.

CETP project was likely to be scrapped which, with the timely intervention by SITE Association leadership, has now been revived.

5. HUBCO RECYCLED WATER PROJECT Another big achievement is recycled

water project of HUBCO on TP-1 which is progressing well. 50 MGD water of specific quality will be provid-ed to industries to be used in industri-al process. A ‘fatwa’ regarding use of recycled water has also been obtained from a leading religious school.

6. 14 High dignitaries visited the Associ-ation and 5 other important events were held which are the following:

Brigd. Abdul Ghaffar.

III. Director SESSI Mr. Muhammad Naveed.

IV. Sindh Minister for Labour Mr.Ghulam Murtaza Baloch. He then visited SESSI Valika Hospital for the inaugu-ration of CT Scan machine where we briefly discussed our issues.

V. DIG Traffic Mr.Javed Ali Mehar. VI. MD Sindh Solid Waste Management

Board Dr.A.D.Sajnani. MD SITE Limited Mr.Syed Imdad Ali Shah also attended this meeting.

VII. Chairman Sindh Revenue Board Mr.Khalid Mehmood.

VIII. Director EOBI Nazimabad Region Mr.Naveed Fayyaz.

IX. Acting MD SSGC Mr.Muhammad Waseem.

7. Other important events which took place during my tenure were:

I. Governor Sindh inaugurated the construction work on 8th October 2018. The completion time was initial-ly 6 months. The work delayed due to complex underground network of utilities lines and also due to litigation. Work is still in progress which is likely to be completed in early 2020. SITE Association of Industry is actively monitoring progress of work on this vital project. Various meetings were held in the Association’s office with the representatives of KIDCL, SITE Ltd and representatives of all civic agencies and we suggested some improvements.

II. Dinner was hosted by Corps Commander Karachi, which provided opportunity to discuss law & order situation of SITE area with him.

III. On 24th Nov 2018, lunch was hosted in honour of friends from print &

electronic media in order to boost liaison between SITE Association and media representatives.

IV. Solidarity Day with Armed Forces of Pakistan was celebrated on 1st March 2019.

V. On 2nd May 2019, Hashmani Medical Foundation Eye Camp and Kutyana Memon Hospital Blood Donation Camp were organized at SITE Associ-ation.

8. Also following companies were invited to give Presentations:

1) AVIANET Germany to introduce a software based Predictive Mainte-nance solution

2) PUM Consultancy 3) DEA Consultants for natural gas

pressure and supply solutions, specially for captive power units.

4) SBP on SME Finance 5) Jamshoro Joint Venture Limited (JJVL)

on LNG downstream solution6) Al-Meezan Investment on investment

opportunities in mutual funds 7) Income Tax officials on Assets Decla-

ration Ordinance-2019 8) Deaf Reach School to introduce their

project for special children

9. AMBULANCE SERVICE Another milestone has been achieved

by SITE Association of Industry for providing quality services to its mem-bers. SESSI has provided fully equipped Ambulance and all mem-bers can avail this service FREE OF COST on working days (Except Sundays) from 8-00 a.m. to 8-00 p.m.

10. FIRE INCIDENTS & MUCT DUES Fire Certificates / NOCs are not being

issued by the Fire Department for which, they demand clearing the dues of Municipal Utilities Charges & Tax (MUCT). The matter of Fire incidents & MUCT dues is being taken up on the lines of trade license. SITE industrial area falls under the jurisdiction of SITE LIMITED, Government of Sindh, which is the agency respon-sible to provide utilities in the industrial area as well as to upkeep its infrastructure. Since the area doesn’t fall under the control of KMC/DMC, there arises no question of charging or collecting MUCT from the industries located here.

11. MEETINGS OF INDUSTRIAL LIAISON COMMITTEE

Four (4) meetings of Industrial Liaison Committee were held during my tenure. This Committee is headed by Governor Sindh. I represented SITE Association in all the meetings and highlighted members issues.

12. MEETINGS WITH SITE LIMITED Almost on daily basis several meet-

ings were held with MD SITE Limited Mr.Syed Imdad Ali Shah and now Mr.Zubair Pervez Ahmed, wherein issues related to Issuance of NOC by SITE Limited; Water Lines in SITE area; Leakage in water lines; Anti-Encroachment drive; Nala cleaning & removal of sludge; Garbage lifting from SITE area; Repair & patchwork of roads; and Fire brigade service in SITE area came under discussion.

Patchwork of some roads was done which has again been ruined by recent rain. Nala cleaning was done and a proper schedule was made for this activity.

13. MEETINGS WITH KARACHI ADMINISTRATION

Issues of SITE area were also taken up with Commissioner Karachi, DC West and other officials wherein issues of SITE area came under discussion:

Removal of encroachments from SITE area, hotels etc.; Poor condition of main roads; Garbage accumulation on main roads; Pursuance with Sindh Solid Waste Management Board; Update on two projects approved for SITE area in the Sindh Budget i.e. Orangi Nala expansion 24” dia water line from Habib Bank to Pump No.3

14. MEETINGS WITH NHA Meetings were held with NHA repre-

sentatives and SITE Association sent its recommendations for traffic improvement on Lyari Expressway and Northern Bypass. Recently NHA organized consultative session on their Annual Maintenance Plan 2018-19 on 6th Sep 2019. Taking advantage of this meeting, our repre-sentative again presented SITE Association’s recommendations which caught their attention. Their team has surveyed the site on 17th Sep 2019 and we hope that action on recommendations will be taken soon.

15. MEETINGS WITH CHINESE COMPANY HANGZHOU JINJIANG GROUP

The Association provided the adjacent plot to Chinese company with a view to facilitate them in garbage lifting work. A meeting was held with them on 20th December 2018 wherein a New Understanding was reached which clearly defined the responsibilities of all the 4 stakehold-ers i.e. Chinese company, Sindh Solid Waste Management Board, SITE Limited and SITE Association.

They neither paid electricity charges not rent of the plot so we got the plot vacated and send them Final Notice to pay dues. Since we had no written agreement for plot use, no headway has been made so far in this respect.

16. STOP-TB CAMPS 2nd phase of Stop-TB Screening

camps were held at more than 15 industries from December 2018 to August 2019, wherein it is estimated that almost 15,000 workers/employ-ees of these industries were screened Free of Cost while they also offered Hepatitis B&C screening against nominal charges of Rs.100/- per test.

ACTIVITIES REPORT (OCT-DEC 2019)



We would like to update Members regarding key events & activities of SITE Association of Industry, Karachi, held during the Presidentship of Mr.Muham-mad Suleman Chawla, during the first quarter (Oct-Dec 2019) as under.

Karachi Industrial Forum (KIF) is the joint forum of all town associations of Kara-chi. Meetings of KIF are held regularly which are attend-ed by the office bearers. At the KIF platform, the common issues of all indus-trial areas of Karachi are discussed. In recent meet-ings, the matter of water tax came under detailed discussion on which, joint action has been taken.

DAY TO DAY ACTIVITIES DURING OCTOBER TO DECEMBER 2019 WERE AS FOLLOWSDATE DETAILS

1st Oct 2019 Meeting of Project Supervisory Committee of Combined Effluent Treatment Plant (CETP) was held in the office of Industries Department, Sindh. Immediate Past President Saleem Parekh attended this meeting where progress of CETPs in industrial zones of Karachi came under discussion.

8th Oct 2019 Officials from Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Jamshoro, visited the Association and gave detailed presentation on treatment of industrial wastewater using an innovative membrane bioreactor. The presentation was highly informative and largely attended by the Members of the Association. Presentation can be downloaded from our website: www.site-association.org

8th Oct 2019 Pakistan Rangers arranged a presentation on Civil Community Net & Building Nation through transformative Higher Education by National University of Science & Technology (NUST) at Rangers Headquarters. The purpose of presentation was to introduce NUST and its higher education programs. Presentation was attended by Chairman Law & Order Committee Abdul Hadi & EC Member Haris Shakoor.

8th Oct 2019 2nd Meeting of Project Steering Committee of CETP for industrial zones of Karachi was held in the Planning & Development Department, Sindh. This meeting was attended by Immediate Past President Saleem Parekh. The Committee reviewed the progress and Secretary Industries & Commerce Department was directed to take required action to remove the bottlenecks and provide the required way forward to the Competent Authority on urgent basis.

10th Oct 2019 As a follow up, NUST organized a reception at DHA Club to give presentation about higher education programs of the University and to further boost liaison with industry representatives where Commander, 5 Corps, Karachi, was the Chief Guest. VP Farhan Ashrafi and EC Members Haris Shakoor & Hussain Moosani attended this program.

11th Oct 2019 Deputy Commissioner (West) Fayyaz Alam Solangi visited SITE Association and met the office bearers to discuss pathetic condition of infrastructure and encroachments in SITE industrial area. The DC West assured his full support in infrastructure uplift efforts of SITE Association. Present on this occasion were President Suleman Chawla, SVP Saleem Nagaria, VP Farhan Ashrafi and Immediate Past President Saleem Parekh.

12th Oct 2019 Blood Donation Camp for Thalassemia children was organized at SITE Association in collaboration with Kutyana Memon Hospital, Karachi. It was another successful camp and more than 169 people and workers donated blood for the noble cause.

15th Oct 2019 Secretary Local Govt., Sindh, Roshan Shaikh, along with Managing Director of SITE LIMITED Zubair Pervez Ahmed and DC West Fayyaz Alam Solangi, visited SITE Association and discussed civic issues being faced by industrialists. The meeting mainly focused on garbage lifting and cleaning of SITE area. Secretary Local Government assured his commitment to provide funds for the rehabilitation works. The meeting was attended by Patron Zubair Motiwala, President Suleman Chawla, VP Farhan Ashrafi, Immediate Past President Saleem Parekh, Ex-President Jawed Bilwani, EC Members namely Hussain Moosani, Haris Shakoor, Iqbal Godil and others.

15th Oct 2019 White cane safety day was organized by Quaid-e-Azam Rangers Special Children School (QRSCS). Chief Guest was Corps commander Lt. General Humayun Aziz (HI)_M. Guest of honor was DG Sindh Rangers (Sindh) Maj. General Omer Ahmed Bokhari. The program was about to celebrate special children day and the organizers requested the philanthropists and well wishers for donation and support of special children. The Program was attended by VP Farhan Ashrafi on behalf of SITE Association.

16th Oct 2019 Meeting was held with Barrister Murtaza Wahab, Minister for Environment, Sindh, on Environmental issues at his office. Immediate Past President Saleem Parekh

represented SITE Association in this meeting and pleaded the case of setting up of Combined Effluent Treatment Plant in SITE Area on priority basis. The Minister assured that measures would be taken to speed up the work on CETP. 23rd Oct 2019 Wing Commander, Sachal Rangers, Lt. Col. Shehzad Jan, visited SITE Association and met its office bearers to review law & order situation in SITE area. He assured full support & cooperation on behalf of Pakistan Rangers. He also paid a visit to SITE Crime Monitoring Cell.

23rd Oct 2019 Meeting on water leakages issue was held at SITE Limited, where the matter was discussed in detail. This meeting was attended by the Office Bearers of the Association. It was decided that leakages shall be repaired on priority by SITE Limited and sub-soil contractors.

28th Oct 2019 SSP WEST held a Press Conference at SITE Association to brief media representatives on the current situation of law & order in SITE area and the achievement of local police which, successfully apprehended criminals involved in different crimes. The accused were also presented before the media. The Press conference was attended by Patron Zubair Motiwala, President Suleman Chawla, SVP Saleem Nagaria, VP Farhan Ashrafi, Immediate Past President Saleem Parekh, Ex-Presidents Jawed Bilwani & Younus Bashir, Chairman Law & Order Committee Abdul Hadi and others.

28th Oct 2019 Sector Commander, Sachal Rangers, Col. Tahir Ayaz visited SITE Association and conducted a closed-door meeting with Patron Zubair Motiwala, President Suleman Chawla, SVP Saleem Nagaria, VP Farhan Ashrafi, Ex-President Jawed Bilwani, Chairman Law & Order Committee Abdul Hadi and others about the law & order condition in SITE area. He also paid a visit to SITE Crime Monitoring Cell and assured full support & cooperation on behalf of Pakistan Rangers to the Members of the Association.

29th Oct 2019 Representatives from the National University of Science & Technology (NUST) visited SITE Association and met Office Bearers. They gave detailed presentation to members on the higher education programs being offered by the University. The presentation can be downloaded from our website www.site-association.org

29th Oct 2019 State Bank of Pakistan organized an Awareness Session at SITE Association in order to disseminate the key features of SBP’s incentive schemes EXCLUSIVELY FOR SMEs (An enterprise having workforce of not more than 250 and generating sales turnover of equal to or less than 800 million). Awareness Session was attended by Members of the Association in large number which provided opportunity to them to interact with SBP officials on their specific financing needs. Prominent among those attend the meeting were President Suleman Chawla, SVP Saleem Nagaria, VP Farhan Ashrafi, EC Members namely Haris Shakoor, Saud Mehmood, Hussain Moosani and others.

30th Oct 2019 President Suleman Chawal and VP Farhan Ashrafi visited Secretary Industries & Commerce Dept, Dr.Nasim-ul-Ghani Sahito at Secretariat office and briefly discussed issues of SITE area. He assured to take measures to uplift infrastructure of SITE area. President invited Secretary Industries to visit SITE Association of Industry at per his convenience to have more fruitful discussion with the Executive Committee, which he very kindly accepted.

4th Nov 2019 Upon receiving numerous complaints from Members of the Association, PTCL high officials visited the President office of the SITE Association and discussed complaints regarding non-functional telephones. They gave assurance to rectify out of order telephone lines in 48 hours. Following this decision, a circular was issued to all Members to send their telephone complaints which were followed up and rectified. President Suleman Chawala and PTCL officials namely Khalid Butt, Vakeel Badshah and Syed Iftikhar Ali attended the meeting.

13th Nov 2019 A Meeting was held at Governor House about ‘Ehsas Saylani Langar Scheme of the federal government to provide free meal to poor people in collaboration with Saylani International Welfare Trust. Vice President Farhan Ashrafi represented SITE Association in this meeting. Governor Sindh asked SITE Limited representative to provide suitable location to set up ‘Dastarkhawan’ for poor industrial workers.

14th Nov 2019 Director General, Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) Major General Omer Ahmed Bokhari visited SITE Association and held meeting with Executive Committee. The law & order situation of SITE area was reviewed and the performance of SITE Crime Monitoring Cell also came under discussion. DG Rangers also visited SITE Crime Monitoring Cell and after the visit, assured the Members to come up soon with revised plan for better utilization of facilities available in the SCMC. Patron-in-Chief Siraj Kassam Teli, Patron Zubair Motiwala, Sector Commander Col. Tahir Ayaz, President Suleman Chawla, SVP Saleem Nagaria, VP Farhan Ashrafi, Ex-Presidents Jawed Bilwani & Younus Bashir, Chairman Law & Order Committee Abdul Hadi and others were present on this occasion.

20th Nov 2019 Honourable Governor Sindh Imran Ismail, visited SITE Association to discuss the infrastructure issues of SITE area. Governor Sindh was kind enough to announce construction of two more roads in SITE area out of federal government funds through SIDCL in addition to Manghopir Road which is near completion. SIDCL Chief Sualeh Ahmed Faroqui, present in the meeting, was requested to include pedestrian bridges in the Manghopir Road project who also replied to some queries raised from participants. Present in the meeting were MPAs Saeed Afridi and Khurram Sher Zaman, Patron-in-Chief Siraj Kassam Teli, Patron Zubair Motiwala, President Suleman Chawla, SVP Saleem Nagaria, Ex-Presidents Jawed Bilwani & Younus Bashir and others.

27th Nov 2019 2nd Meeting of Project Supervisory Committee of Combined Effluent Treatment Plant (CETP) was held at Industries Department, Sindh. Immediate Past President Saleem Parekh and Ex-President Jawed Bilwani represented the Association in this meeting and presented the viewpoint of SITE Association on the CETP. It was decided to hold separate meetings for Tertiary Treatment & CETP-I and pre-treatment by industries. The consultant was directed to come up with detailed presentation in the next meeting.

2nd Dec 2019 Sector Commander, Sachal Rangers, Col. Tahir Ayaz, paid another visit to SITE Association to follow up matters discussed during the visit of DG Rangers Sindh. He was accompanied by Wing Commander (32 Wing) Lt. Col. Shahzad Jan. He gave detailed presentation to members and informed them that he has submitted revised security plan of SITE area to DG Rangers Sindh for his perusal and approval. Prominent among those who attended the meeting were Patron Zubair Motiwala, President Suleman Chawla, SVP Saleem Nagaria, VP Farhan Ashrafi, EC Members namely Hussain Moosani, Haris Shakoor, Chairman Law & Order Committee Abdul Hadi and others. 3rd Dec 2019 Secretary Industries, Sindh, Dr.Nasim-ul-Ghani Sahito, visited SITE Association of Industry and held meeting with members. He was accompanied by Managing Director of SITE LIMITED Syed Mehdi Ali Shah. Apart from many other matters, the construction of roads in SITE area was discussed at length. MD SITE Limited informed the participants that he has submitted proposal to the Sindh Government for the construction of roads in SITE area at the cost of rupees one billion which is likely to approve. Members very much appreciated his efforts and assured full support & cooperation from the platform of SITE Association in reviving the infrastructure of the area. 4th Dec 2019 Vice Commissioner of SESSI Asif Ali Memon visited SITE Association of Industry to give presentation to members of the Association about Online Registration of Establishments and Online Social Security Contribution. Members of the Association, present in large number raised many queries which were satisfactorily answered by the Vice Commissioner. He also announced to set up ‘SESSI Helpdesk’ at SITE Association which was highly welcomed. The meeting was largely attended by the members of the association, prominent among them were President Suleman Chawla, SVP Saleem Nagaria, VP Farhan Ashrafi, Chairman Labour Committee Ali Ahmed, EC Member Hussain Moosani and Ex-Chairman Labour Committee Touseef Ahmed.

10th Dec 2019 Deputy Director General (B&C-1) E.O.B.I. Anwer Ali Zuberi, was invited to SITE Association to meet members and discuss their issues related to EOBI. Addressing the members of the Association, he categorically stated that EOBI inspection shall be done only once in a year while issuance of EOBI Cards will be expedited. The meeting was largely attended by the members of the association, prominent among them were Patron Zubair Motiwala, President Suleman Chawla, SVP Saleem Nagaria, VP Farhan Ashrafi, Immediate Past President Saleem Parekh, Ex-President Younus Bashir, Chairman Labour Committee Ali Ahmed, EC Member Hussain Moosani and others.

11th Dec 2019 Meeting regarding Census of Manufacturing Industries was held at Sindh Secretariat. President Suleman Chawla represented SITE Association. It was inter-alia decided to request industrial associations to facilitate the provision of data.

16th Dec 2019 SIDCL high officials namely Dr.Abdul Shakoor Pathan, Engr. Khurshid Ahmed Solangi and others held meeting with office bearers for re-location of sub-soil water lines laid on the banks of Manghopir Road, as construction of said road is near completion. President Suleman Chawla, SVP Saleem Nagaria and Immediate Past President Saleem Parekh attended the meeting.

17th Dec 2019 Meeting of Industrial Liaison Committee was held under Chief Secretary Sindh at Sindh Secretariat, to discuss issues being faced by industries in Karachi. Immediate Past President Saleem Parekh represented the Association at this forum and urged the Sindh government to take measures to uplift infrastructure in SITE area in particular.

18th Dec 2019 Meeting held with Chairman EOBI Azhar Hameed and Director Coordination Naeem at EOBI Secretariat, represented by President Suleman Chawla and VP Farhan Ashrafi. Matters pertaining to EOBI came under discussion at the meeting.

19th Dec 2019 Managing Director of SITE LIMITED Syed Mehdi Ali Shah was invited at SITE Association on Lunch which provided an opportunity to informally exchange views on the progress of roads proposal moved by SITE Limited to the Sindh Government. MD SITE Limited informed on this occasion that he has pursued the case of construction of roads in SITE area with the Chief Minister Sindh and the funds are likely to be approved soon.

23rd Dec 2019 Vice Commissioner SESSI Asif Ali Memon, along with Vice President Muhammad Farhan Ashrafi and Ex-President Jawed Bilwani inaugurated the ‘SESSI Helpdesk’ at SITE Association to facilitate members for online registration and payment of SESSI contribution. Jawed Bilwani highly appreciated Vice Commissioner SESSI for setting up the helpdesk as per commitment made. EC Members Haris Shakoor and Hussain Moosani were also present on this occasion.

25th Dec 2019 Delegation of SITE Association of Industry headed by Patron M. Zubair Motiwala, and comprising President Suleman Chawla , VP Farhan Ashrafi, Executive Committee Members M.Hussain Moosani, & Haris Shakoor and Chairman Law & Order Committee Abdul Hadi participated in ‘Shukriya Jinnah’ celebrations at Mazar-e-Quaid to pay tributes to Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
