All Signs Point to YesDo you remember the magic eight ball that youcould turn upside down for the answer to anyquestion you asked? For me, the answer thatoften floated to the window was, “All SignsPoint to Yes”. If buyers who are on the fencewant to know whether now is a good time tobuy, turn that eight ball upside down or keepreading. For months there have been severalstrong signs pointing to “yes”...low interestrates, a shrinking inventory of homes, and lowersale prices. Unfortunately the fear of job loss,talk of failing economies and tighter loan condi-tions have kept many on the sidelines. Somejust want to make sure they buy at the absolutebottom of the market, but few are so lucky.While others wait, a number of smart investorshave already begun buying up rentable houses,often with cash. Builders have also venturedforth, but with more caution and holding fewerhomes in inventory.The one market indicator that still defies a turn-around is “increasing days on market”. One rea-son why that number remains high is becausethere are many sellers, especially in the higherprice ranges, who resist pricing to the currentmarket. Houses priced to today’s market areselling reasonably fast, while those priced as if itwas 2007 are keeping the DOM numbers elevat-ed. If there is one overriding reason why now isa good time to buy, it is the all time low interestrate hovering around 4%. 5 maybe 10 yearsfrom now, most of us will wonder why we didnot buy when the rates were in the high 3%range. The fear of loss often wins out over thecourage to seize the opportunity. Did the eightball ever say, “Nothing ventured, nothinggained”?

Staging’s main goal is to make you money. Comments such as, “What beautiful

hardwood floors”, or “That view is to die

for!” or, better yet, “I could live here!”

is what Staging provides! Staging is not

decorating. Decorating markets the designer’s

talent. Staging markets the maximum value

of your house.

When hiring a Stager ask your Realtor for

their recommendation. Your Realtor will recommend a Stager they know to be

professional and effective. Confirm your Stager is insured. They will be handling your

treasured items and, unfortunately, accidents can happen. Ask to see their portfolio or

visit their website to see samples of their work. Confirm the photos are actual samples

of their work and not part of a press kit. If your property is vacant ask the Stager if they

provide Vacant services and carry their own inventory. Request a quote. Vacant Staging

often costs less than one month’s carrying costs! Pictures of empty rooms don’t create

the need to see a property. Staging does!
