The Research Triangle might be known for its growth and innovation, but its rich history deserves the spotlight as well. At PSCP, we love to celebrate the stories that give this area its unique character.

As a real estate agency, we have the pleasure of representing many one-of-a-kind historic homes dating back to even the 1800s. While many of the homes have been beautifully renovated in the past decade, each property has its own interesting story that draws us in and reminds us from whence we come. Please enjoy this issue of the PSCP Real Estate Book which highlights some of our favorite historic sites.

I am so lucky! I imagined my life rich with meaningful relationships, opportunities, culture and beauty. My dreams have come true in the Triangle. The energy and optimism, friendly faces and easy pace make it an inspiring

place to write your story.

I came to North Carolina in 1986 to help get a business off the ground. With a great guy, the "Joy of Cooking" and lots of shoes all stuffed in a Toyota, it was an epic adventure. Following a few years as an account executive in advertising and PR, where I managed accounts from financial services to fashion, I went full force into growing our business, book and music retailing, and our family, raising a child and several dogs. In the process, we renovated two historic houses and two commercial properties.

In my free time, I can be found hanging upside down in yoga class, walking in my urban Durham neighborhood with my dog Tulip and volunteering at my son's school. I enjoy sinking into a well-written novel or memoir and a trashy TV show now and again. I'm always scouring the Triangle's many ethnic markets to cook for family and friends, and dancing in the kitchen of my historic bungalow.

My love for the triangle has allowed me to develop extensive knowledge of the Durham and Chapel Hill/Carrboro communities. Whether you're buying your first home, selling to move up, downsizing, investing or divesting, let’s work together

to take you where you want to go. I'll find the best houses for your needs, from classic older homes, to unique contemporary dwellings, a sleek condo downtown, or maybe some land to create your own natural habitat. Let's move ahead and find the place that makes you feel at home.

I enjoy reading books on history and as a lifelong resident of Durham, my family roots extend back in our community’s history almost 150 years. My grandfather was one of the founders of what is now The Herald-Sun newspaper and my wife’s grandfather was the first president of Duke University. I have lived and worked my whole life in Durham, and I am a graduate of Durham Academy, Duke University, and Duke’s Fuqua School of Business.

I served as the Director of Corporate Relations at The Herald-Sun-- my job was marketing the newspaper and engaging the newspaper into the life of the community. Following that, I invested in Downtown Durham properties and then started and operated several business ventures. I later

became a financial advisor and business consultant. Now, as a REALTOR©, with 30 years of business experience in the Triangle, I can help people with the important decisions of buying or selling their homes.

My wife Louise Few Rollins, also a Durham native, is a teacher at The Hill Center and we have three children, Will, Carlton and Sarah, and two lovable rescue dogs, Macy and Ringo. I currently serve as Vice-Chair of the American Red Cross, Chair of the Friends of Scouting Campaign, a member of the Durham Rotary Club, and active member of Duke Memorial United Methodist Church.

My knowledge of the market, my extensive network of contacts, and my associa-tion with PSCP are three benefits of choosing to work with me as your real estate agent. I am passion-ate about working with and helping other people. Please contact me if I may be of service.

ROXANNE MAXWELLAGENT SPOTLIGHT

“Selling with style…and substance.”

One afternoon, I am sitting outside our office and sipping a coffee. I say “hi” to a stranger, which is not at all unusual

for me. As he stops to open the door, he returns my greeting. I tell him “I am drawing a blank.” He looks at me quizzically. I explain, “I am trying to write a bio and I have no idea what to say.” He quickly understands my dilemma, smiles at me, and says, “You are obviously stylish, entertaining, charming, smart, and funny.” I smile back and say, “Thank you and you are obviously very astute.”

Born in Jamaica, WI, and raised in NYC, I am a cosmopolitan girl known for her grit and wit. I became a Durhamite when I married my very cute Duke Alumnus husband, Walter. Together, we are raising four amazing children. I am a Realtor because I value my role as a trusted advisor. From my first job underwriting mortgages and reviewing appraisals; to running multi-million dollar deals at Morgan Stanley; to advising emerging market investment funds and green technology companies; to my career as a real estate professional, I always place my clients’ interests first and commit wholly to get the deal done. While deep analytical expertise and insight in identifying value and market trends is the

foundation of my care, experience teaches me that understanding people, seeking practical solutions, achieving consensus, maintaining integrity, and staying flexible at all stages of the transaction is the means for achieving that goal.
